Description
First off, I want to give both a shout out to Jebriodo who had a birthday recently and whose picture www.deviantart.com/art/Urtha-t… I credit as the inspiration for this particular piece.
This picture means a lot to me. Not only is it an early birthday present to me, thank you my brother, but I wasn't expecting my brother to remember our conversations regarding this piece almost 18 months ago in order to commission it from the uber-skilled Mr. Haradrim johnnyharadrim.deviantart.com/ who drew the original Dreadnought artwork. I want to thank both of them for this because this picture really brightened my weekend. As you can see it also turned out extremely well.
My brother knew that with my 30th birthday approaching I was going through a bit of a rough patch, since I've been bummed with my lack of accomplishments leading up to this important, well important to me anyway, milestone birthday. So seeing this completed reminded me that just because I'm another year older doesn't mean I won't be able to complete anything else.
As for the picture, I really wanted to show how I envisioned Dreadnought emerging from her disguise. I believe that by showing her bursting forth from her disguise while charging towards where the proverbial action is with a smile on her face also helps showcase Dreadnought's personality and attitude towards superheroics.
Basically the Army Ranger squad that Dreadnought's cover identity Raleigh is a part of is deployed near what Dreadnought's superiors consider to be potential overseas superhero intervention zones. "Raleigh" upon arriving on scene will assess the situation and if it truly does merit superhero activity then in the classic superhero manner Raleigh will become otherwise occupied while Dreadnought appears to handle the situation.

Wow I know the artist style but not much the character herself except being an Army Ranger since I find the concept of Superhero in the Military overseas dealing with Super Powered threats quite interesting ...

Caucasian actually, I figured having an alter ego that was of a different skin color would make a more convincing disguise since upon acquiring her powers she was convinced to fake her own death. I felt that this method of discarding her disguise/alter ego would serve two purposes, first off it would demonstrate part of her power set the ability to condense her own mass and secondly since most of her superhero activity would take place in either high conflict areas or regions with high potential for conflict she needed a quick method to transition between identities and this seemed rather apt. For example its hard to find a convenient isolated phone booth in the middle of a fire fight.

That's a pretty good piece. Ever considered writing any stories with Dreadnought?

thank you, to a certain extent yes actually. She was originally supposed to be a trial run in preparation for something else, but a combination of passage of time and convolution prevented me from considering delving into her to much.
