Cited in The NY Times for his 'provocative, erotically charged black-and-white photos'... ME: too young to remember all his photographs from the 60s... I do remember his pictorials for Playboy... Original prints of the photographs from his August 1976 Playboy pictorial of Kristine DeBell, "200 Motels, or How I Spent My Summer Vacation" were sold at auctions of Playboy archives... I own one... I met Newton in Paris... I was just a kid... my great aunt, Roseline, was quite close to Claude Pompidou, and, thereby, Yves Saint Laurent and Catherine Deneuve... and, of course, Helmut Newton, who came along, photographing their coterie... Very Grande Days... YOU might aspire to be like Newton... keep trying... at least you won't have to admit you didn't even try... ha! might as well try to climb Mt. Everest without oxygen... no one will ever surpass Newton... Alice Springs, the photographer, is the alias for June Browne, Newton's widow...
