In my opinion, debates are an outmodded form of communication. If you believe you are right, almost nothing will change your mind. Alternatively if you believe the other person is dead wrong. Nothing they say will convince you. Intellectual flex is only condoned in a nerd's fantasy or by an idiots inability to elucidate their side. When the shit hits the fan, Copernicus gets a leg broken off in his ass and strength writes or rewrites the narrative. This isn't me talking down to you, I'm a tard of all trades, master of my own domain though. Conceding a point shouldn't be your goal, as it is time wasted on most likely an ever evolving situation/concept. The amount of irl arguments I've been in, especially when I was young and unconfident was always a crapshoot of kinds. I could know all the angles, yet lack the authority to lay down the law and even get dismissed immediately after cause fatfuck loser. In that area, it isn't your ability to intimidate or intellectually assrape them to death. Your confidence must always be stern and your convictions unwavering. The challenger just as in a real fight is looking to one-punch debase your argument or your credibility. The longhaul or longer than the smart-fag-haul is your game. Serious not agressive, sure not smug and being knowledgable not just knowing the answer. Your (hopefully) ocean of experience will dwarf, consume and highlight the hill he's going to die on, located on the tiny island of knowledge that he incorrectly assumed would shut you down or shut you up. Knowing a little bit about everything will always impress somebody. Fuck how impressed they are, every farmer on earth knows a cow pisses milk everywhere. Not many are aware that due to the methane each one of them burp and fart out every day for eons. They are responsible for almost half of global warming an is an unbiased fact.
