Before you start smacking up your device and picking out a corner street for it to work. That's my attempt to be cool, while using 20 year old slang for customization. With newer phones namely Samsung, LG and other devices, there is a feature called Always on Display. Which means when your screen is off..it's still on... Which should make you worried that maybe it's camera and mic is still recording too.. (ps: they are). If you watched the above video, let me calm your tits by saying no my phone isn't haunted by Batman, I don't know why you'd think that.. but ok. That third ghostly pic is my Always On Display or AOD for short. And it's missing the clock, but thats ok. What we need to talk about with AOD's is screen Burn-in. Burn-in is bad as I'm sure you might have seen somewhere online or on your stepdad's 42' Onn HDTV. It's when an image is displayed too long on certain screens and the image leaves an imprint that will not go away.

Besides battery concerns, it's the reason why the Always On Display, isn't a display that's always.. on.

So (and I just learned this too) there was a way devised to counter burn-in. It's called Pixel Shifting or Half-Pixel images.

I didn't mean to alienate anybody, that owns a phone without AOD. We still have things in common like breathing air and sweating (you might like sweating a little bit more though). Stock Samsung AOD themes are extremely lame and reigned back, as it should be. Intel gives you the illusion of overclocking these days, but they wouldn't let your rape your processor right out of the box (which you should be able to do). Just like Samsung wants broken screens, but not screens broken by the phone or it's software. It's ok, if one of the new ones that are slippery than a fish swimming in snot during an oil spill squirts from your grip.

After the tutorial this is what I was left with. I made it into a webm to show motion, but I'm not sure you'll catch it. Both Transparent alternating masks are allowing either side of the image to be viewable, which allows for a little break for the pussy pixels that can't hack it.
