Description Thats right! A fully customized horse model of your very own! The ONLY thing you pay is shipping. You pay it directly to the postman who delivers your package. Not me! No paypal, credit cards, or online scams!

Check out my blog to see the journey I'm taking to help stop a Two year old Shetland Quarter pony from becoming a Pasture bound Brood mare.

This pony was one I took under lease when she was just a year old. I've worked with her a lot, teaching her ground manners and I hope to one day teach her how to drive. This pony saved my life, at the time I was suffering under a crushing depression that wasn't helped by my troublesome family life. Working with her kept me sane and has allowed me to break my depression without the use of medications that numbed me.

Now, because of family troubles I'm being forced to move over a thousand miles away to Tucson. I'll be forced to give up her lease and her owner will breed her to offset upkeep costs. If I can move her I will also be able to get her professional training that will further her education.

I dearly wish to keep my pony with me, but the cost to ship and buy her will be about 1,000$. This is more money then I can make on my own in the short period of time I have. So to raise awareness of this situation and hopefully get some support, I've started a Blogspot blog about her, which will also contain a lot of free art.

The only thing you pay is shipping when the package arrives . NO payment will go to me. enough entries I will include shipping FREE.

Rules of the raffle
1: Up to three entries per day. You can enter multiple times a day.
2. Just comment on my blog post about the raffle. Tell me what you think about the blog!
3. You do not need to pay me ANY money directly. If shipping isn't covered by my you will pay the post office/mail man, not me.
4. Spread the word, if you want.

I have a fear of tall horses. XD So ponies are good for me! Plus, the shetland can pull more pound for pound than a draft horse can. XD

This is true, but I want a farming horse. Despite their strength, they don't have the weight to till the earth.

This is true. XD This is true. I'd feel horrible watching a shetty plow the land. A good mule would be amazing, though. Mules are amazingly strong. XD If I ever breed Truffles it'd be for a mule foal. Just cause it'd be amazing, specially if it got her silver.

But thats a looong time in the future. XD

That would be a cute mix. Shetland mule. ^^

XD Yess. And I've never seen a silver mule. Ever. There aren't even pictures on the internet. O_O

Probably cuz it doesn't carry in the donkey gene.

Really? o_o Thats so weird!

KaxantheDragon In reply to FrostCoveredFields [2012-02-11 16:49:09 +0000 UTC]

Donkey colors tend to be more dominant. Which is why you'll see more mules with the Millie mouth then without. Unless you're breeding to a horse with a dominant color gene. Such as Belgians will always produce the palomino variety. Fjord mulies are also guaranteed that color. I would know, I've ridden and driven mules. They are sweeties!

I love mules. u.u And according tot his mule page there have been silver dapple mules. Since Silver is a dominant gene. She's Znz for silver, so about half her foals will have silver. It's important to keep her away from Chesnuts, though. XD She does have a chance at being homozygous black, though. Might be worth testing in the future.
Personally, I'm a fan of the mule because of their brains and haunting sounds. XD I LOVE the mule bray, so so much.

Well I have never seen a silver mule. Doesn't mean that they are not out there. XD I honestly don't know the genetics of silvers. All I know is that I've wanted to breed my mare to a silver for YEARS. She's too old now, though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostCoveredFields In reply to KaxantheDragon [2012-02-12 00:17:00 +0000 UTC]

Silver itself is so rare in horses I could see why. XD Lot of people think their rare colors are worth more on horses. But I'd rather see it on a mule, myself. Of a Zony. XD A Silver Zony would be interesting.

KaxantheDragon In reply to FrostCoveredFields [2012-02-12 01:09:11 +0000 UTC]

Zony? ZebraXPony?

The cool thing is that I know a lady who owns a zebra colt right in my area...

FrostCoveredFields In reply to KaxantheDragon [2012-02-12 02:31:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah.

Oh thats SO coool! 8D If I had to breed Truffles before her training was done it'd ONLY be to a Zebra. Could you imagine? I'd hope for a Chesnut base coat so that it's not Silver black on silver black. Unless the black stripes of the zebra weren't affected by the silver gene..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaxantheDragon In reply to FrostCoveredFields [2012-02-12 02:33:01 +0000 UTC]

Not sure. All Zorse's I've seen had darker stripes...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostCoveredFields In reply to KaxantheDragon [2012-02-12 02:36:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but they've never been Silver. It's hard to say.. I know the foal will take the mothers coloring with the fathers stripes.

Lol. I bet talking about it feels like a carrot dangled in front of your nose, eh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostCoveredFields In reply to KaxantheDragon [2012-02-12 03:37:21 +0000 UTC]

Pretty much XD The only breedings I want Truffles to do are for a mule and a zony. I don't think the world needs another grade Pony.

FrostCoveredFields In reply to KaxantheDragon [2012-02-12 04:20:16 +0000 UTC]

Course, everything depends on how she fills out. XD I hate that looks you get in some pony crosses. With the big head and barrel and stubby legs. So if she turns out like that I don't want her foals to catch it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaxantheDragon In reply to FrostCoveredFields [2012-02-12 04:22:07 +0000 UTC]

Understandable. ^^ I just wish I could've had a foal out of my mare. She's the smartest calmest thing I know. I've seen her get her leg stuck and wait for someone to come help her instead of struggling.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostCoveredFields In reply to KaxantheDragon [2012-02-12 04:27:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. It makes me sad to see an aggressive evil mare have a foal cause she's 'Flashy' when the sweet nice mare who isn't 'flashy' doesn't get bred. e_e The foal comes out just as evil as the mare and tries to bite and kick you. ><;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaxantheDragon In reply to FrostCoveredFields [2012-02-12 04:32:16 +0000 UTC]

I agree. I think we should breed more smarts and usefulness then 'prettiness'. Some of those halter arabs are gorgeous, but ain't worth a darn for anything else...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostCoveredFields In reply to KaxantheDragon [2012-02-12 04:46:13 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, really. I knew one mare, named Shirley. Beautifully built, flashy colors, mean as heck. She'd rear in her stall if you did something she wasn't okay with. e_e

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaxantheDragon In reply to FrostCoveredFields [2012-02-12 04:51:43 +0000 UTC]

Wow. I've never dealt with horses like that. Horses that are full of themselves, sure, but not hotheads. My mare's only vice is that she does not like lunging with a line. I'm pretty sure she was abused/or had a bad experience with lunging on a line, cuz she can get down right mean about it. Lunges perfectly in a round pen though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostCoveredFields In reply to KaxantheDragon [2012-02-12 05:06:36 +0000 UTC]

This was a halter only horse, for sure. XD Didn't like anything.
I mean, sure, Truffles has kicked once or twice at the lunge line when she tries to be lazy and hide in the 'corner' of the pen. But she's never been aggressive towards people. This filly, though, was a monster. X_X She had every Vice you could think of.

KaxantheDragon In reply to FrostCoveredFields [2012-02-12 05:10:10 +0000 UTC]

That's insane. I don't know how people breed such animals. Or even train them either. Sometimes that's not from the personality but how they were trained or treated.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostCoveredFields In reply to KaxantheDragon [2012-02-12 05:11:18 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the stallion he bred to was decent. But you couldn't be out to pasture without him trying to rape/snake/chase you. <<;; Had freaky wall eyes, too.

Omg, as I saw the photos you posted on your blog, I understand, why you want to save that girl, she is gorgeous!
I'm not going to enter, so someone else can get that base, but I will still click your link a few times, so I hope you can save your girl :3

FrostCoveredFields In reply to Pestdoktor [2012-02-09 02:01:01 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much. <3

And yeah, she's my beautiful baby. I'd still love her if she was just a plain chestnut, though. She's so smart and kind. Once when I was sad she just stayed right by my side and wouldn't go away from me. Not even for some sweet grain. She groomed my head and then gave me a big kiss. Thats something you can't train a horse to do, you know? ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Pestdoktor In reply to FrostCoveredFields [2012-02-09 02:07:45 +0000 UTC]

I can totally understand that, my dog knows how I feel too and he always sat next to me, when I was all stressed because of school and everything
I hope you can manage to buy her. It's nice to see, that people ask for something to help another being instead of buying some fancy stuff or so

Animals like that just can't be replaced.
Thanks, I hope I do too. Buying her isn't the worst part, though. It's shipping. XD

Have you thought about doing commissions at all? If you make them cheaply enough im sure youd get a few people that want some gift art done.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostCoveredFields In reply to fillyrox [2012-02-09 01:54:32 +0000 UTC]

I have offered commissions on many sites. I'm not exactly where the best place to offer them on DA is. Nobody reads my journal so I'm not sure there would be any good.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fillyrox In reply to FrostCoveredFields [2012-02-09 01:58:23 +0000 UTC]

Most people on DA do put it in a journal some put it on their front page. You have a high number of page views - and a lot of people are looking at the picture of the model and clicking through to the blog - maybe up it up in a DA journal - with your story and on the blog. Im sure id get a few I like to help stories like yours.

FrostCoveredFields In reply to fillyrox [2012-02-09 02:02:44 +0000 UTC]

I'll try it, then! Anything I can do to help my little girl. She's the best horse I've ever met and it'd be devastating to watch her be pastured. I'll make a journal now. <3 I just hope my prices are good, I'm horrible at pricing.

That, actually, is a pretty good idea! I never thought of repainting Shleich! You could paint them to colors you like! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!
