On a cold morning we sneaked into this old Clinic. Almost empty but wet and moldy. We sneaked through the hallways,
from room to room and found suddenly a complete library with medical books....

Things like this almost make me weep. So much written knowledge left to its own devices, left to succumb to the inevitable processes of decay and destruction. Reminds me of the indolent lotus-eaters in The Time Machine and how their remnants of a library looked, all of the neglected and forgotten literature having crumbled into dust.

What were your reactions on suddenly coming across the library filled with books?

I heard rumors bevore, about that library. And then i thought "OMG i found it!". Was an awesome feeling and it was the best room. First i took the photographs, then i looked at all the books
Two months later, this place was gone..

I guess I can understand the reasoning, but still, that really sucks.

Does it make you feel better to know that every time I go to a certain Mexican restaurant here I think of you? Because it has a lovely view of the abandoned pottery factory across the road, which of course makes me think of your Porcellanum series and your beautiful photos in general.

and is it open? Or security protected?

I'm sure the doors are locked and boarded up - as are the lower windows. But the upper windows are broken and the roof is full of holes. There are a surprising amount of abandoned places around this area, from factories to tiny little shacks. The closest one to me is about 25 metres down the road, just a small house. And then about a kilometre away is an old school house that is technically still owned by someone, but it has fallen into disrepair and is unpleasant to be around even in the day time.

I haven't, but now I will, just for you. Only you aren't allowed to scoff at my lack of photography talent.
