Disney May be known for the media empire as it is through acquiring such things like Jim Henson’s Muppet franchise (and Bear and the Big Blue House), Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilms, and more recently depending on the situation, 20th Century Fox; however, they did at one point owned Dic Entertainment-the company that produced those Mario and Sonic cartoons and their iconic series, Inspector Gadget... This probably didn’t last due to the fact that the Inspector Gadget movie didn’t do well with critics despite gaining an alright box office success worthy enough for its direct-to-DVD sequel... Afterwards, it was at this point where Disney didn’t have anything to do with Dic, and the rest was history as Dic merged with Cookie Jar in 2008 and eventually merged within DHX Media by 2011-2012.
