when Chelle was 5, her parents bought a great dane puppy named Cezar. but Chelle named him Cement, because he was big and grey. they was inseparable - playing together, sleeping together, she treated as her best friends and had more fun playing with Cement than with other kids. but that's why she had big problems with finding her place in school society. Chelle was good girl. nice and cheerful. but she didin't really care for other kids, didn't wanted to play with them. Cement was the one who mattered. that's why other kids started to think that she's kinda weird... but she didn't care.but great danes live very shord. Cement died after 7 years, when Chelle was only 12. she was strongly depressed, as much as only kid could be after losing best friend. she started to be quiet, sad, apathetic. rarely smiled. she didn't have other friends and her sister Rita was quite popular girl in school, so she felt even worse. one day school teacher called Chelle and her parents to say, that Chelle has all symptoms of depression and should be covered by the psychogist care. for a few years she had reguar meetings with psychologist. but she still had problems with other kids, she just didn't know how to act, how to make friends.
after years she changed a bit, grew up and started to fix everything. she gain some self-confident, started to work in dog shelter, and even she has some friends now.
(sorry for my poor english. hope you're able to understand what I'm trying to say. also I make a lot of typos so sorry for that..)

Reminds me of my own buddy, Pogo.
We grew up together from the age of six months onward. Luckily, I had more time with him than Chelle did with Cement- he got to fourteen! But I do miss him sometimes. I remember doing everything in this picture with him.

actually I know that feeling.. I was 14 when my 17-year-old (!) cat died. he had cancer.. he was the most patient and the kindest creature I've ever met. I played with him a lot when I was small and didn't really care about other kids. he was my best friend and my patron. with his beautiful, light-red, long fur he almost looked like a lion. he was with me when I was sad or happy, when I cried he came to me slowly -as he always walked around- looked in my eyes as he would ask: "What's the problem, dear?" I was so lucky to know him. even now, years after his death I'm always crying thinking of him.. even right now.Β

i cried a little at this because ive lost my best friend this year too. his name was indi and he was a border collie, he was unusually large for his breed but he was beautiful. i always love your art and this really connected to me and makes me miss my friend alot. these pictures are just like how my dog and i spent our time, right up untill this year when i held him as he died from cancer. i hope you know what a brilliant artist you are xx

Cuteness factor overload alert! XD This is so warm, down to earth and perfectly capturing innocent moments lost. Expressions both human and canine are full of pure untampered joy, this really gives "halcyon days" its full definition. And especially kid Chelle glomping Cement in the 2nd pic.... daaaaaaaawwwwwww~ *snuggles*
Gushiness aside, I also find that the detailed backstory provided here only makes this piece all the more complete; yes her dark school years are yet to be drawn but grasping the contrast between the art & desc. text helps one brace themself for the powerful thrust of journey through her life while still keeping true hope that it will turn out bright (as is the case given this pic: [link] ).
This art may seem slight mundane but its nonetheless essential in helping develop her story and giving your universe realistic gravity alongside the usual fantastic. Thanks a Lot for further sharing her story here!

This story really touches me. It's just like me and my old dog Buckwheat growing up. I got him when I was three and he lived for 18 years, he was my best friend... my everything. I had no idea how to make friends after he died and even to this day it's still really hard for me. Dogs are the best. Thank you for this <3

That is so sad and lovely.. I know how she feels actually.. Since I'm in this kind of mood these days.. I've lost my kitties and it is sad for me sometimes.. right now my other cat is sick and I feel so worried tho the doctor said I shouldn't be worried... also I was bullied which left a trauma in me.
But hopefully I'll end up like her and get my self confident back :3
