Description Sikotic brushed her fairly dry hands down the sides of her blue dress to remove the remains of water she hadn't manage to wipe off after putting a dish into the sink. “Tell daddy what you did last night.” She said, turning around to see her beautiful daughter stuffing her face full of eggs mixed with bacon bits.

“Oh?” Her husband asked, leaning over towards their little one with a cup of coffee one hand and an empty plate in the other. “What did you do?”

Chubby cheeks were pushed up as their daughter smiled with delight while her mouth continued to hold her breakfast meal. She chewed a few more times before swallowing allowing her to speak freely, “I drew another picture.” She said proudly.

“A new picture! Wow!” He said as he looked over towards his wife who grinned back at him. “What kind of picture?”

Sikotic took a step over towards their fridge that contained a magnitude of their child’s artwork scattered all over the surface and stuck in place with decorative magnets. “Was it a doggy?” Sik asked, pointing to a peculiar picture that resembled something of a four legged animal with floppy ears.

“No!” She said with a giggle. “That one!” she said pointing a tiny finger.

“Oh was it a tree?” Sik asked, pointing to another.

“No silly! That one!”

“Oh, this one? Are you sure?” She asked, putting her knuckle against her lip as if thinking about it.

“Yeah! Daddy, I drew a rainbow!”

Sikotic’s husband placed his dish into the sink and went over to pull the picture down off the fridge. “A rainbow, where did you see a rainbow?” he asked, his voice filled with delight and happiness that made his daughter excited.

“I saw it outside while I was playing.” She said taking the picture from her father’s hands as she inspected the image carefully as to relive the moment. “It was a big one.”
“I bet it was.” He responded, “Did you know that they say there’s a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, guarded by little green men called Leprechauns?”

“What?” she said making a face. “There’s no such thing as little green men.”
“It’s true!” He said. “Ask your mom.”

Sikotic nodded her head with a soft giggle as she leaned her back up against the counter. “Alright you two, come on. Finish up your breakfast Hope.”

Hope groaned momentarily before continuing to stab her fluffy eggs with a fork and then eating them.

Sikotic stared at her daughter’s plate for a second before pulling her eyes away when the sound of a car door being closed caught her attention. “Oh’up! Look whose here.”
Hope stopped eating as she turned around just in time to see her Uncle opening the door. “Uncle Andi!” she screamed, as she pushed herself off the chair and bolted towards him.
Andi bent down to his knees just as Hope jumped up into his arms as he pulled her up and swung her around. “There’s my favorite little niece.” He called out as he gave her a big hug and placed her on his hip.

“I’m you’re only niece!” Hope said as she grabbed his sunglasses from his shirt neck and placed them on her face.

“Really? I thought there was two?” Andi joked, taking his glasses away from her and putting them against his back pocket. “Hello sis.”

Sikotic walked over towards her brother and planted a kiss against his cheek. “Hello Andi. Are you sure you’re fine with taking Hope to school today?” she asked, looking down to the cracked sunglasses he had always kept since they were kids – she herself had a matching, unbroken, pair of her own upstairs.

“Yeah, I can handle this little bug.” He said as he lowered Hope to the ground. “Go get your backpack.” He told her as he looked towards Sikotic’s husband with a sheepish smile.
As Hope left the room to get her school backpack, Andi nodded his head. “I took some just in case. I haven’t had an episode in a good while but I don’t want you two to worry.” He said looking between the two of them.

Sikotic forced a smile as she hugged her brother “We’re not worried,” she half lied. “The school is just down the road and you can call me if anything happens.”

“And be sure to call when she’s inside.” Her husband said as he sipped his coffee quietly.
Andi didn’t say anything but instead nodded as he looked over back to Sik. He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. “How have you been?”

“I’ve been great.” Sikotic said as she brushed her fingers through Andi’s unkempt hair. “Everything has been perfect.”

That made him smile, “Good. I- I’m just glad you’re happy. It makes me happy.”

Hope came barreling back into the room with her backpack snugged tightly against her shoulders. “I’m ready!”

Andi took Hope by the hand as Sikotic bent down and kissed her on the head. “You have a good day sweetheart, I love you.” She said.

“I love you too mommy.” Hope replied, “Love you daddy!”

“Love you Hope.”

Andi opened the front door and led his niece outside towards his car. “Wave goodbye.” He said, as Hope turned around and shook her hand widely into the air. Andi waved towards Sik as she waved back before closing the door.

“I’ve got to get going too.” Her husband said as he set the cup down on the counter and gathered his wallet and cellphone.

Sikotic awkwardly shuffled forward as she stared at him. “It’ll be okay hun.”
He nodded to himself as he bit his lip. “I know it will be, I just worry.”

Sikotic wrapped her hands around his neck as she got closer and looked into his deep brown eyes. As the sunlight hit his face just right through the blinds she was certain his eyes were not brown but a dark crimson tint. “Alo.” She said with a forced chuckle, attempting to lighten the situation. “It’ll be okay.”

Aloadae wrapped his hands around Sikotic’s waist as he drew her close. “Okay Sik, It will be alright. You have a good day.” He said as he kissed her.

Sikotic melted into the touch of his lips as she kissed him with a heated passion the two shared for one another. “No, you have a good day.” She teased, pulling away as she slapped the side of his arm playfully. “Now go to work. I’ve got a lot to do.” She said as she motioned to the piles of dishes from their morning’s breakfast.
