the bruises show up secretlypurple on her arm
she bears them out for all to see
showing the true harm
her mommy sits there silently
watching from afar
waiting for the day to come
for him to hit to hard
she warns them of her trouble
of the blood the hurt the pain
but never does she tell it all
to filled is she with shame
and still the people do not see
to the damage they are blind
waiting for the day to come
when they fear what they may find,
