Description
"Did you see the cat by the window?"
"Could've sworn it was a Ghost"
- Ink sans & core Frisk
What is Neko Frisk?
Somewhere around November, 2015, a month after undertale was released, the multiverse began to form with worlds like Underfell, Kindred souls, and various fan-comics... however, among these timelines lied one nonexistent timeline: ____tale, the rejected AU that gave birth to the legendary Ink! sans.
Years had gone by, and the Multiverse has begun to expand beyond its own observable reach, becoming more of a Megaverse while its title still remained... however, among these creations, lied the opportunity for the unnamed creators to create "takes", or alternative Ideas for an existing AU, as if it was reshaped in their image.
Of course, somewhere along late 2021, the awakening of a mysterious figure came to be, from the same doodlesphere that rised from ____tale's ashes, a human had awoken, casted into the multiverse by a lesser creator.
And of course, when they escaped, it'd come to no surprise that many would begin to acknowledge their presence, as it reminded them of various artworks depicting a familiar face... someone who ultimately represented the player, but appearing to have resemblance to a common house pet.
Profile
Name: Neko! Frisk
Aliases: Neko, Frisk, Kitty cat (Presumably by dream), Meow Meow (by Mew Mew..?), Doll (As some compare their physique to a doll)
Age: Somewhere around the age of 10-13 years old.
Race: Human..?
Occupation: Visionary
Stats: 300 HP, 13 ATK, 7 DEF
Appearance: while not seen in the picture, Neko frisk can easily be explained. It appears to be similar to good old classic frisk, from the stubby body to the yellow pigment of their face, and their expression is usually neutral until interacting. They appear to be wearing a black shirt & equally black shorts, followed by pink rain boots, as well as a White bandolier that holds Blanc sheets of paper in the form of scrolls & even a pair of catlike mittens. Their name stems from their pink coat, which seems to cover their outfit from the neck all the way to the middle of the shorts, held together by 2 plastic buttons and a fairly large black bow that has a pink cat symbol on it (as depicted in the artwork). Their coat seems to depict cat ears, which are actually apart of Neko's anatomy (hence why they're there), and underneath, one could not help but notice a long brown tail, which is 2.5 feet long... Why Neko Frisk appears like this is a mystery.
Personality: Much like with Frisk, Neko can appear to be monotone in general with a tendency to not speak often, although as opposed to Ink who lacks emotions, Neko simply doesn't believe they have anything going for them other than potential friendships they could make. They generally care for those who have been there to support them, and will do nearly anything to keep them going. They can be rather scatter-brained, and rationality isn't their strong suit, but they usually try their best to keep things within a reasonable scope. They also tend to act bratty when agitated, which is one of the few times they'll begin to act more expressive other than when excited, in which they'll begin to bounce around in joy.
Powers: As a human, Neko shouldn't be able to cast magic, but they are capable of using "summons", which take the shape of lesser monsters as well domestic or fantasy creatures, such as cats, dogs, or even elemental fox spirits (their general favorite to use is the flaming cat wheel, rightfully named "KrispKat"). These Summons are made from bright pink magic, which glows like a lava lamp. In addition, they also seem to carry a series of aforementioned sheets of paper, which can be used to make "contracts"... which are rather important. (Did I mention they could turn into a SOUL cat?)
These abilities are actually byproducts of their cat-shaped SOUL, which was anomalously warped into that form upon their creation & reawakening. Of course, being apparently human to some extent allows them to save & load, but even when up close, reset is out of their reach... not to mention that their DETERMINATION is outmatched by just about any other frisk aside from Coreo.
[Notable weaknesses include: LOTS of water, Big dogs, Godlike beings such as Asriel, Being in extremely cold or hot areas, being in the anti-void for too long, which may lead to passing out and possibly a week long corruption, Cucumbers cause they think they're a Bad Omen, and the KR effect.]
Quirks & stuff
The Monos
An important asset to Neko is the existence of unexplored AU ideas & cancelled projects, which enact the need to be reborn when in need. These take the forms of characters that look to be outlines of what could be a person... a sans, a frisk, or even some entirely new person could've been there if some creator picked them up through creating them. Almost every AU character must have been a Mono at some point, and so Neko's job ever since their awakening has been to fill in the blanks. This is where the contracts come into play. In an event where someone has an Idea, Neko could approach a mono and have them sign a contract to be reborn as a full fledged person...
That being said, a Mono doesn't just go... created out of the blue. In order for one to spawn, it must be randomly brought into reality through a missed opportunity or if another AU gets cancelled (as such with Flowerfell, for example). If there are tons of them nearby, Neko's insignia (which is printed on their bow) will turn from pink to red, as the eyes become Xs as if they are dead, hence turning their attention to the general distress. If there are interruptions such as negative figures or even the occasional destroyer such as Error, Neko will try to simply ACT & try to negotiate, and if all else fails, will begin to fight.
In an event where a Mono has been neglected for too long, they will become a wraith, a foul, flaming figure who will go about perishing other monos and even non-Mono figures... and in an event where a cancelled AU gets neglected for too long, it will become a powerful arch-wraith, or "wretch", which is capable of converting other monos into wraiths. They may not be very problematic compared to someone such as Nightmare, but in mass quantities could lead to what one could describe as a "Zombie apocalypse", giving Neko yet another reason to go around making contracts instead of fooling around with AUs often.
In general, Monos are the missed opportunities that are given life by Neko! Frisk in contributions to players such as you & me, if there is an Idea that doesn't fit in your AU, go talk about it with friends & see if you could be a little more creative and use it to establish a new one. It must just liven up the community even more.
