Inspiration for the pose came from one of the panels in this manga that I just started reading yesterday, Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad. (Hence the M.G.S. on her shirt) It's one of the best manga that I've ever read, to put it simply it's about an aspiring band. Yeah. It's just completely different from a normal lineart technique because you block out large chunks of the drawing already giving you a sense of where the important things in the drawings are and what not.

However upon closer inspection, I can see a few things you may want to work on. =3
For example, for the rest of her body and face, her nostrils seem a bit too far apart. Her hair also looks a bit scraggly compared to the smoothness of the rest of the piece, it seems to take away a bit.
That's all I could find. o.o

Haha, of course there's a lot to work on. Frankly I'm less satisfied with this piece than many others in my gallery even if this got a lot more comments. Hell, there are a lot of things that I can work on besides the one you noted - such as the line separating the skin and the long glove on her right arm, or the jaggedness of the pants near her waist, or the fact that the lines on the shoulder of her t-shirt actually cover over the necklace... yeah. Each artist is probably his own harshest critic.
Still, I see potential in this drawing as well so when I get my tablet working again I think I'll edit it some. Thanks so much for your constructive criticism, I really appreciate it a lot. Those are the best possible comments!

Heh, it gave me so much trouble. I re-drew it at least 3 times, mostly because the nose seemed flat most of the time. It still does in a way, and that's a problem I have with this high contrast B & W style... still working on it!

I must know where this characters of yours goes shopping! I love the gloves and the pants are just beyond cool.
The black and white pattern makes the pose and the attitude pop-out more as well as the minor details in fabric and hair strands gives an almost real life at first glance (I thought it was an actual picture)

In all honesty I only gave her really long gloves not because she has good fashion sense, but because I wasn't sure how to make the arms look good with this sort of coloring style. I guess it pays to experiment, eh? Thanks for your detailed observations, I appreciate it!

Yeah, I do almost all of my work digitally now after I got a tablet, mostly because I have to run all the way to the computer labs if I want to use a scanner, and I make mistakes very often, making the "undo" button in Photoshop my best friend.
