Black roses litter the bed
for they were once red.
Like halos resting above your head
how I was so mislead.
It should have come to no surprise
that our love turned out to be all lies.
Now I watch our roses die
once as red as these tears I cry.
What remains are thorns
representing not love, but scorn.
Black petals ripped from roses shorn
being separated from you, I feel forlorn.
Here I fall on broken knees
god, bring him back to me please.
With all my heart I can't believe
and can't find the strength to set us free.
Sounds of dying fill the room
Mixing in to stir the gloom.
Something has got to happen soon
as these petals fall to meet their doom.
He's not coming back, no way
I'm these roses blown astray.
Goodbye, is all I have to say
because our black roses have all gone away.
