Description
..this was also inspired at first by Lovecraft, though maybe its not that obvious...
a color in form of a meteorit came down to earth on a farm and it turned the area around it into a bizarre, colorful landscape and turned the people crazy
i really like how it turned out
thanks to the wonderful textures from * aleksandra and ~resurgere
i think its kinda difficzlt to find the right category for this, maybe i'll change it later .. too bad the Dark section is gone

The Gardner farm. What a happy, cheerful place...

One of his masterpieces, and I think you captured the atmosphere of it very well. The only thing that would have made it better would be putting the well (oh God, that well...) in there. But even without it, that horrible, crumbling gray look captures the feeling of the decimated homestead horribly well.

Fantastic. You really get the mood of the story. The sucking of all life and vitality out of the farm and the terror of something totally alien in a conventional Middle American setting. The texture on the sky is nicely integrated and the polarised silhouette of the tree interestingly evokes the presences escape and the trees that moved when there was no wind.

I'm reading through a collection of Lovecraft's work right now and so far Colour out of Space is my favourite. This perfectly illustrates the atmosphere of the Blasted Heath, well done

Somewhere between canvas and old film. The texture and contrast are perfect for the subject. Keeping reading if this is what it gets you.

Totally fantastic piece of art!
Love it!
If I have to put some critic here - the scratches on the clouds could be a bit darker.

Ahhh, you're awesome just for referencing lesser-known Lovecraft. Seems like most people are lucky if they've even heard of Cthulhu.

This is very reminiscent of the Impressionist photography exhibit I just visited this morning... oh so very good. I love the coloring and the ghostly tree in the background.
