Theo and Loki napping together. Theo is an Abyssinian kitten and Loki is a Bengal kitten. They're around 16 weeks old and were introduced for the first time less than 2 weeks ago.Related content

Your pictures are so warm and loving. I simply love everything about them. I am curious as to what camera/lens you use to take your pictures with. I am always trying to find a better way to capture pictures.

I've also got a flash unit and I've been getting into using that recently (all the action shots use the flash). Sometimes I use bounce flash - bouncing off the ceiling to give a more diffuse light. Sometimes I mount the flash on a tripod with a flash umbrella (my camera and the flash support Nikon's CLS so can do remote flash control without needing any extra kit).

That was very informative. Thank you for giving me an idea on how to capture more evolved photos of animals/pets. I would love to try the bounce flash, although I haven't yet bought a flash unit. So thanks again for your input. I can't wait to see more of your works.

You can only do it in descriptions on deviations (it doesn't work in comments). If you look at any deviation then to the right of the photo there's a column and in that column is a "Details" section and in there is "Link" and "Thumb". If you copy bit the bit from "Thumb" (which begins :thumb) and paste that into the description on your deviation then that will insert a thumbnail and link when reading it - you can use the "Preview" to check it's worked

Absolutely gorgeous! Getting them both when they're young, and only a short amount of
time apart, there is no jealousies and they bond quickly. It took 2 weeks for my Ragdolls
to be all lovey-lovey, when we brought the male kitten home, a couple of months after the
little girl. They are best friends now... sometimes.

Yes - I took great care to try get two that were close in age (so their development stages would be in step) and arranged to pick them up on consecutive days to try help ensure a quick bond! Misty still growls at both of them and swats them though. It won't be long before Loki's as heavy as Misty - it'll be interesting to see if he stays submissive to her (I'm hoping it won't get properly violent!)

Maybe once Loki is bigger, Misty will think twice about trying to
box him up. Then again, my two Raggies, the little girl, Moki, has
moments when she wants to beat up the male, Ras. We have to break it,
a stern word is enough, because Ras is just too heavy for her. He sits
on her, or gets her into a corner.

She only does it when he gets near (and sometimes if she's walking past him), she doesn't seek him out to bat him. I think she's gradually getting more tolerant but it's a very slow process. Both kittens have learned that she's not particularly vicious about it and will back off after giving them a quick reminder of who's boss. So Theo has taken to sometimes playfully pouncing at her when she's walking away from him and if she's sitting in a spot Loki wants to be in he'll creep closer to her until she cuffs him and then she leaves, so he gets the spot
Loki's getting close to her weight already and I'm expecting him to reach 6kg easily (Misty's 4kg). I think if he does start to get more assertive she won't yield to him, she'll stand her ground. My previous aby, Simba, was 6kg and they'd occasionally tussle and Misty could hold her own as despite the weight disadvantage she's still strong and adept: [link]

That sounds a bit like how Moki treats the Cocker Spaniel.
Whenever he walks passed her, regardless of where she is -
on the floor, sitting on a chair - she will give his nose a
solid beating! Both Raggies are taking a long time to warm up
to Julz- he's four and they're only just now allowing him near
them without yowling or running away. (Thanks to my brother
terrorising them with his Terriers, they don't like dogs)
It sounds like Theo and Loki are two very cunning little boys-
if they're using Misty's behaviour to get what they want!

I think it helps that I got them at the same time and they're the same age and perhaps also that they're male - they've bonded like litter-mates
