Description
I had bought the Sargent book by Ratcliff and flipping through it I saw a black and white photo of a master copy Sargent had done of El Greco's Holy Trinity. It wasn't a very good photo (and it was in black and white) but the composition drew me in. I did a search and found the original. I had a 26" x 36" canvas sitting in my studio for a couple of months and thought this would be a great opportunity to use it. I had never heard of El Greco until I came across that Sargent copy. This really isn't my style of painting but I have to say I enjoyed painting this immensely.
