No, same Bush. Why do you think he's a good leader?

Kizeira In reply to FuzzyDiceChick [2007-11-02 20:59:11 +0000 UTC]

He's a Born-Again Christian. You are not even American. You have NO RIGHT whether to judge him or not on whether he's a good leader. The fact is, he IS our leader, whether we LIKE him or NOT! GOD put him there!

"If you don't like it, then don't say anything!"

Well same goes for you! I respect the position he has, and he's doing the BEST HE CAN. He's only human, and cannot fix all the problems. Being a leader, he will have people who grumble against him, and people that support him. For as long as he's our President, I'm going to give him support; he has a big load.

Remember Moses? He was the leader of the Israelites. But remember how they grumbled against him? "Oh, that we could have stayed in Egypt! This man called Moses has gone up onto the mountain: we do not know what has happened to him!"

But in the end, Moses led them to the Promised Land. He was a great leader, even when no one liked him. It was his burden, and he hated it. He cried out to God, "How long do I have to lead these bull-headed people? Just strike me dead!"

But God did not. God did as he promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: brought them to the promised land. And He used a leader of His choosing.

And God, for the time, has President Bush as our leader. God put him there--and kept him there for two terms. He'll be leaving soon--when his term is up, but I will support him until he goes. I will not tear down what God has done.

Ok, so first of all, I was in no way trying to put him down or anythign of the sort. I was just asking you because I know some people don't like talking much about politics. I wanted to know what you thought, not wether it gave me a chance to flame him or you.

Besides, as a person living in a free country, I have totall freedom of speach, so it doesn't matter if I'm not from the U.S. I could be from any country and still have a right to deciced in my mind what is a good leader or not. And if you really want to know one of the only reasons I don't like him is because when he gets up on stage he sucks at talking. EG: "They missunderestimateded me." Dude, I don't care who you are, or where you from that is NOT a word! Also: "A question most uncomenly asked is; is are children being educated?" Ok he totally failed in useing corect grammer when he said that.

Now, before you comepltly try to shread me to bits by saying that's no reason to not like someone I want to ask you: is there a person in your life that you don't like? Come on now, be truthful. I don't like him because I don't. Not at all for what he does for the U.S or what he doesn't do, I simply don't like him. That's no reason to get up someone because you don't like what their saying.

Oh and think that's cute that you pulled the trick of useing my own words against me. I really don't know if you noticed, but there's this heading above what you were reading, it said "doesn't like", not it's open for people to critize.

Now look, I think it's cool that you use stuff from the Bible and that you totally support your ruler, but please, next time you are going to go and scratch someones eyes out, make sure you have the facts straight.

Kizeira In reply to FuzzyDiceChick [2007-11-03 19:46:13 +0000 UTC]

Well, first of all, I'm sorry that I don't have all the facts right. I never will. I'm human. But I like to debate. So please forgive me for getting into this. I'm constantly looking for someone to challenge me. I don't know why. I just do.

And even after all this, I still want to be your friend. That's at the top of my priority list. But humor me and debate with me.

Yes, you have the right of free speech. And so do I. And debate can be healthy.

Yes, you can not like Bush. But do you have a reason? If you have a reason, then I'll be satisfied, but you have given me none yet, except that he has bad grammar, and that's a shallow argument.

But for judging whether he's a good leader or not, no! You have no right! You are not close enough to the action to declare whether the combatants are standing or down. You can not like him all you want, but you have no right to decide on his leadership.

It's like the Harry Potter books. Many Christians jumped on the religious bandwagon to protest it--but they had never read the book. What right do they have? They've never read it. They're only spreading what they've heard--whether it's right or not. And rumors get twisted very quickly.

The only people allowed to judge Harry Potter are the people who have read the books. They have seen for themselves. They have been close enough to the action to decide.

I'm coming down on you for a reason. Because you're Christian. And saying you don't like a person "just because" does not fit in line with the Bible. And that gets me. But I admit--! I do it too! But I wish poeple would call me on it.

Sure, I too was worried we just broke a friendship, I'm glad you still want to continue. And yes, I do love a good debate.

Actually, I do have a reason, my country is arm in arms with yours at the moment because my Prime Minister thinks the alliance is a good one. Those troops out there that are dying? They’re ours as well. Many families have lost sons and daughters to the same war. I think I have the right to judge. My cousin is a volunteer peace keeper. At the moment our country is playing at “monkey see, monkey do” with yours because if war ever started on our country we’d need the numbers of yours to help us out. But don’t let that give you any ideas, we do it to the U.K as well. Our country in land size is nearly the same as yours, I have the site to prove it: [link]
But we lack population because of the nearly non existing water. We do what we must to live, and if that means our P.M butt kissing your leader, well, we just have to live with that. But you know what? That doesn’t mean we have to be happy with it.

And please, can we steer clear of the Harry-potter mumbo-jumbo? I mean have you never heard that verse in Revelations? Rev 22: 15? But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. N.K.J
Did you read that? It said sorcerers! What is Harry-potter? That’s right he’s a wizard or witch, take your pick, because either way it is wrong. Yes actually, I can judge without reading those books. That’s what the Bible is for! To guide us, so that we won’t fall for the same tricks as everyone else, so that we don’t have to read it to know that it’s wrong.

I respect you for coming down on me, I just wished you’d have told me so that I didn’t think you were just getting angry at me for no reason other then you didn’t like what I was saying. Also, if you read very, very closely I actually said “one of the only reasons” did you see that? I said “reasons” not “reason” I have more then one but I didn’t think I needed to go into it when I was talking to you.

You said I have no right to criticize his leader ship. I never did in my comment. But let me read you something posted in one of Australia’s famous news papers:
When America sneezes, Australia gets a cold. We are pretty darn close to your country in more than one way and seeing as our leader tends to do whatever yours does, I am in the position to say wether he’s doing a good job or not.

P.S So you like to debate? Are you in a club? I used to be.

Aha. Now we're getting somewhere.

See there! Now you have just proven to me that you have a right to not be happy about Bush. And I'm satisfied with it, and I'll leave that be.

About Harry Potter, YOU were the one to just get into it. I was trying for the main theme--not HP itself. Let me switch the setting.

Some people have never read the Bible. Yet they hate it. They go on what they hear. "Isn't it just a bunch of 'Thou shalt not's?" "The Bible has been proven wrong by scientists!" "The Bible is nothing more than a novel." "It's not true."

Tell me...

They have never read the Bible. Do they really have a right to judge it? They can make their general decision on what they hear: they can either look at it, or steer clear. But that's as far as they can go. They have no right of which to say it's not true, because they have not tested it themselves! That's getting into specifics, where they are not allowed.

I get mad at people who do that. I don't care what is and whether I like the thing or not--but they are not allowed to cross the line into specifics if they have not experienced it!

But those who have fully read and done all the research--those are the people I allow the opinions of, whether good or bad. They have proven to me that they full know, and are allowed to attack specifics.

(And about debate, I can really get into it, but it's not always healthy for me. But I do love building up my case and seeing who can beat me. But no, I'm not in a club.)

Ok if you hadn't put him in the conversation in the first place I wouldn't of said anything.

So basically what you're saying is that I would have to do drugs, kill someone and drink in an excessive way to have the right to tell you that those things are wrong.

Yeah, I don't think so.
See the problem with what you're saying is that you aren't looking at it from a bigger scale. It doesn't even make sence if you look at properly because that would mean to have an opinion on anything at all you would have to do everything in the world. And that, to me sounds more like a Terry Pratchet book then good thinking.

Kizeira In reply to FuzzyDiceChick [2007-11-06 20:15:35 +0000 UTC]

That's out of context.

Some things are absolute-truths, others are up for personal tastes. Drugs, drinking, killing. Those are wrong because they have been proved wrong. There is no debate. It is commanded in the Bible.

My point, is that with the anything-goes things--relative truths--it is a sin if you spread what you do not really know. It is the same as a half-truth, which is also a half-lie.

Another example, if I may.

Betty: Cara! Did you hear about Lisa? That girl over there? Did you know she hates boys? Laura said she's gay! She said that Lisa has make-out sessions with other girls in the bathroom. Isn't it gross?

Yes, gruesome example. This in one word: Gossip.
And you know what? Betty has never met Lisa. That's what gives her no right to spread info.

Betty is sinning. Eph. 4:29 affirms that point.
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."

My point is: there is a limit to how far your opinions can go. Pastor Jack can be a Pre-Trib Non-denomionalist, and Pastor Bob can be a Post-Trib Pentecostal. And they can be that without sinning. But the sinning starts when that think the other is wrong, and they discriminate each other because of it. They can get so worked up, that they start picking things out of each other's denomination to attack--things that are pointless!

There is a limit to opinions. There's absolute truth, and relative truth.

Absolute truth: "God said, 'Let there be light!' " And there was. And there still is. Light is light. Not up for debate.

Relative truth: Sister: I like it when the sun is out. Brother: I don't.
