The hand is actually supposed to be a ghost of sorts (in Skyward Sword), but the white-glove-like-quality of it reminds me a lot of Princess Peach.. or anyone else who wears white gloves for that matter.
Not familiar with the situation? In a few of the Legend of Zelda games, they have this running gag of having a hand appear out of a toilet (it usually wants paper). So yeah
