Wanted to give a try with Manga studio. Pretty nice software if you ask me, screw photoshop!Lineart with MS, rest with... well, photoshop

Ive always wanted MS, but I never knew anybody that had it to ask for a real opinion. So based on what you have played with, do you think its really adequate for making manga with or just stick to traditional?

Wow... very nicely done! I haven't ever used manga studio before so I don't know if it's hard to create a work like this or not, but regardless; it's a very well created piece of art! The color scheme just happens to be in one of my favorite general schemes, and it is a very overall aesthetically pleasing image!
At first glance, I had taken this for Yoko of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Am I wrong?

Really excellent in regards to the perspective/angle. Dynamic, to say the least. Her design is very nice, too; stylish yet easy on the eyes.

A-As a somewhat off-topic comment: I've heard good things about Manga Studios (both Debut and Pro).
If you don't mind my asking: For someone with next to zero experience with any CGing programs, would that be a preferrable 'starter' or would PS? Or something else?

YES, it's a great program fro line art! I've started using it for line art, though I'm still not quite used to inking with a tablet. This looks great-- it would work really well if you used it in a desktop wallpaper
