It's true that Remnant's first mankind is...no longer a factor but you know how the petty ass Gods of Light and Darkness roll. Using their vast magic powers, they went back in time and kidnapped a lot of Quirk using people, brought them to Remnant's distant past and upgraded their powers with aura and Dust ability and left them there to grow as a people

Over the years Osma in his various forms fought to ensure these people thrived. He just had the rotten luck of having Salem to deal with, and Dust's inability to be used outside the planet limited his options. While Salem has her canon powers only, this was all she needed and only Atlas survived when the planet of Remnant was destroyed by the Gods, but this also took away her immortality, meaning that now she can die from wounds and sickness. As alien as a lot of species the surviving people are led by Ironwood as they struggle to maintain their culture in a world no longer their's to call their own
