Description Teehee I'm in class and submitting.

I'm so bad.

Anyway this is a page from my children's book for my class of the same persuasion. I chose to try my hand at illustrating the story of Vasilisa the Beautiful.

I just feel like submitting this because it's one of the better looking pages, excepting that stupid red tendril that accidentally came over Baba Yaga's hair and a few bleeding/blotting problems. fffff. That and two of the riders look more similar than they should. geh. I might go back and change one of them.

but yeah. :U Painted with acrylics watered down to be like watercolors on watercolor paper + microns / india ink for the lines + a smidge of digital editing for the border and color correction.

This is beautiful and interesting interpretation. You can see riders coming from her, and imagine Vasilisa's thoughts.

Incredible work! I love the contrast between the blues and reds. And I love the way you drew her hair!

Oh I love Vasilisa the Beautiful. "Czarovna Vasilisa and the Firebird" is my favorite though out of Russian Faery Tales
