i like this a whole lot. the design is aboloutely beautiful. all the extra stuff surrounding the tree really emphasizes it and helps further express the idea of fact and fancy that you convey in the description (atleast for me anyways). the colors are pretty too.

This is quite a stunning piece, no doubt of that.
There are a few changes that I think should be made. The curls in the branches feel to thick, which prevents a complete combining of the concepts of reality and fantasy (or fact and fancy). The green and brown in the background (woods and moutains) feel washed out and artificial. I also have a minor problem with the fact that some of the arrows are transparent on the right of the image, below the branches--I think it throws off the balance of the piece and stands out to clearly as the one white spot.
Other than that? I just love this. The combination of fact and fancy is brilliant, and the aspects that you used to convey that combination, especially the curls within the branches, are stunning. I also like the thin black arrows, even if I couldn't say just why. It's a beautiful, stunning piece that made me look more than twice. You certainly are a talented artist, judging both by this piece and your gallery, and I look forward to seeing more work.

that is another great work. It has a lot of expression in it. Esepcially accompined by your description it really wakes a feeling of a complex situation, almost chaotic. Situation in which it is really hard to understand what's going on, but at the same time there is a bit of pleasure and some kind of satisfaction in it. Very nice deviation.

Interesting. Confusing. Unprecise. Empty but full.
Those are the words that came to my mind as I first looked upon this deviation. Now I shall study what my thoughts certainly meant.
The confusion is easy to understand. All the arrows going hecks and the tree branches gaining life and taking diverse new forms. What do the arrows represent? You mention a new world. Chaos? No, I don't think so. It is more of a need to escape from being just a lone tree in the desert, that is how I feel it. And then there's this big arrow in the top right that brings everything back down to earth.
This vehiculates the feeling (to me) that you need to escape, at least temporarily, from reality, but that sadly always something brings you back. Which looks like your description. Maybe am I right. Maybe not. But that is how I see it.
Now on to more technical issues.
I would have considered this perfect myself if the middle are hadn't been so empty...I would have added an effect (like the one you made on two branches) on the branch on the far right of the tree on the picture, it would have felt more full, don't you think?

fantastic ... the only slight problem i have is that the blackness of the curlicues is too dark to fit with the color of the branches, so that the curlies don't *quite* blend seamlessly to look like an extension of the boughs...
reminds me a bit of "upgrowth" ... a medalist in the digital photography section of the contest on [link]
