Description
There is normally at least one RC-135 variant deployed to Mildenhall for operations in Europe. Since the summer of 2014 and Russian expansion in Eastern Europe operations have been stepped up and there has been as many as three operating here. Flights down into Europe are mounted on a near daily basis and here RC-135W 62-4139 is on finals to Mildenhall after one such sortie. Ironically, the dispersal for these aircraft is now located in the interior of Mildenhall to prevent enthusiasts from viewing them, yet the aircraft still have to taxi beside the fence, and obviously depart and land.
