Description
So I have decided to do fanart of the AVGN... starring pretty much every female video game character who has appeared in the series!
I may be missing a few, but I have decided to draw just the ones who have left an impression on me.
Those gals include:
- Princess Zelda from The Legend of Zelda: Wand of Gamelon and The Legend of Zelda: Faces of Evil on CD-i Philips ("You killed me!" "Good!")
- Little Red Hood from Little Red Hood on NES ("Oh! My dear Little Red Hood! Thank you for your coming!")
- Hooker from Slashers in Action 52 on NES ("I guess this guy doesn't understand the concept of a hooker. You're supposed to fuck her, not fuck her up!")
- Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz on Super Nintendo ("I thought it was a ballsack!")
- Jane from Plumbers Don't Wear Ties on 3DO ("Take your damn clothes off!")
- Cave explorer (yes, she's supposed to be female, despite AVGN referring to her as a he) from Underground in Action 52 on NES ("If he touches the mushroom, he spins around like a bowling pin and dies?")
- Naked chick from Gigolo on Atari 2600 ("Can you imagine if you're just sitting around, minding your own business, then all of a sudden, some naked chick breaks in and starts humping the crap out of you?")
- Skylar from Cybermorph on Atari Jaguar ("Where did you learn to fly?")
- Reika from Time Gal on Sega CD ("You can't touch me!")
- "Mrs. Tits" from Haunted Hills in Action 52 on NES ("Out of the way, you fucking ghosts, here comes Mrs. Tits, jumping like she's on the moon!")
- Figure skater from Winter Games on NES ("But if I were to give out an award, a big shit-dripping trophy, for the worst controls ever in a video game, I think it would go to this!")
- Karate chick from Plumbers Don't Wear Ties on 3DO ("Were you raised in a barn?")
- Jessica Rabbit (holding her number) from Who Framed Roger Rabbit on NES ("Well, the number definitely has changed...")
- Laurie Strode from Halloween on Atari 2600 ("It could be a big black dildo for all I care.")
- Carrie from Castlevania on Nintendo 64 ("But now, I am playing, like, as a schoolgirl?")
- Naked women from Beat 'Em & Lick 'Em on Atari 2600 ("Yummy!")
- Kid in distress from Moonwalker on Sega Genesis ("Michael!")
- Partying girl from Night Trap on Sega CD ("Yeah, get the tennis racket!")
- Bathroom girl from Night Trap on Sega CD ("All right, this is what I'm talking about!")
- Bubblegum Rosy/Rosie/Rossie from Bubblegum Rosy/Rosie/Rossie in Action 52 on NES ("Yay! I've always wanted to play a game where I'm a little girl shooting bubbles!")
... including Shit Pickle and Boo the cat, aka "Death Kitty".
And of course, the Angry Video Game Nerd.

The show never said he is a virgin. You don't need to be a virgin to be a nerd.

The bald green woman is actually the ship's on-board computer system, and her name is Skylar.

Thanks for the info!

*pastes an Atari logo on shirt* What can I say, I'm an Atari fanboy, I know things. All the weird little things with Atari fascinate me.

Cool! I am personally interested in the Atari Jaguar... how is it 64-bits if it didn't show it?

Oh for the love of Fuji. You've got to be kidding me. I'll get to answering in a second, just let me vent first. *falls to knees, and cries up to Heaven* Why, God, WHY?! Why is this always the only question people have? Of all the things Atari, why does it always come down to this? Okay, I'm done now.
You define what it means to be a 64-bit console, and then I'll be able to answer the question. As Mr. Angry pointed out, the whole X-bit console thing is just advertising. That's all it was, pure and simple advertising. What makes a console 8-bit, 16-bit, or 64-bit has never been defined, by anyone.
Does it go by the type of computer architecture it uses? If so, then the Jaguar is a 64 bit console, because its architecture is 64-bit.
Does it go by the graphics chip? If so, it becomes complicated, because there isn't a graphics chip per se. All the graphics are handled by the so called "Tom" chip, but the "Tom" chip is actually several chips in one unit. Overall, the chip is considered a 64-bit chip, but there is debate about that. Two of the parts are true 64-bit chips, but the processor is a 32-bit chip, and the part that handles operational orders is actually an 8-bit chip. Plus, there the fact that the graphics aren't pixel based, or Raster graphics, like most consoles. The graphics are Vector graphics, or based on points, lines, and curves. So even comparing the Jaguar to other consoles is like comparing apples and oranges.
Perfect example of this was actually covered by AVGN, but he didn't go into detail about it, in fact, he might not have known. Cybermorph vs. Star Fox. Cybermorph was the original pack-in game for the Jaguar, and used only 1 or 2 megs of a 750 meg cartridge, depending on the version. On the other hand, Star Fox used all of the Super Nintendo's capabilities, including putting an additional coprocessor chip in the cartridge to help the console handle the graphics. Yet the games look and play pretty similarly.
Another one is Doom. The Sega 32X version had to cut 10 levels, there is no save option, and the BFG 9000 is unobtainable; the Super Nintendo version cut 5 levels, and on both, the monsters can only ever face the player head on, and never attack each other. The Jaguar version cut 3 levels, and redesigned 2 others. In addition, the monsters can face, and attack each other or the player in any way that they can in the PC version. The game play music is famously cut, but that was because Atari was afraid that it would interfere with the sound effects of the game, similar to what happened with many Lynx games, i.e. Zarlor Mercenary.
The Jaguar overall was capable of more than any of the other consoles that existed at the time; however, its hodge podge construction using chips that were really collections of other chips that were made to act as one made it difficult to program games for it, and those that were programmed rarely took the Jaguar to its full capabilities, whatever they could have been. Then the PlayStation came along and Atari then rushed to finish the CD add-on for the Jaguar. It was actually originally designed to be a CD based system, but they couldn't get the discs to the level they wanted at first, so they redesigned the Jaguar as a cartridge based system. Then once they got the discs where they wanted, there was a mistake at the manufacturer, and many Jaguar CDs were made with slower spinning CD-ROM motors instead of the proper, much faster spinning Jaguar CD motor, resulting in many Jaguar CDs not working at all. Plus, the CD added even more chips that were made of other chips, and guess what, that made the games even harder to program!
Overall, the Jaguar is just a poorly executed machine. It could have been so much, but it just a foot note now.
Sorry about the massive comment there, but as you can tell, I've been asked this question A LOT! And as such I've had A LOT of time to prepare answers. In fact, this is the only question I get asked about Atari...EVER!

Because it was their most embarrassing incident, and thus, people tend to remember the most embarrassing stuff. That's the way it is ("Never Live It Down").
Anyhow, thank you for the information! Despite all this, I think the Jaguar looks cool and am thinking of including it in a comic in a positive light.

up2knowgood In reply to gaucelm [2013-02-05 03:42:45 +0000 UTC]
Really? The Jaguar was more embarrassing than *electrocuted by a 5200 switch box* and *trying to use a 5200 controller, but it doesn't do anything*. I mean, maybe it's more embarrassing because it was much more recent than the other disasters, but still, my nomination for most embarrassing moment would be *dump truck backing into a city dump, dumps millions of copies of E.T., drives off, a cement truck backs up to the pile and encases them in concrete*.
You're welcome. I'll agree, it does look cool, much more interesting than the block shape of almost every other video game console made. Let me know if you need anything for your comic, I have both the Jaguar, and the Jaguar CD. Don't have that many games for them though.

Somebody actually got electrocuted by an 5200? the AVGN showed that it did a dangerous zap...
oh yeah, how could I not mention the ET cartridges... But I think the reason why people keep asking about the bits in the Jaguar is because they don't understand the technology behind its famous slogan.
i'lll ask you a question for sure when I'll get to it!

I'm sure someone did, but I don't think anyone was killed by it. I mean, electronics were not as safe then as they are now, so, yeah, I'm sure several people have gotten jolts off of them.
Yeah, I can't even explain the Jaguar's construction, other than to call it hack fuck.
Okay.
