Mock up example of what I'm aiming to produce for my upcoming Blu Pyro Wall Card . . . .Experimenting with an aged, crinkled look to this long lost fabled lithograph....
There was once a time where teams of mercenaries fought an endless struggle over a tightly sealed suitcase, both sides constantly squabbling over land mass and many, many died in the process. The Pyro is one lunatic amongst these deranged mercs for hire....
This is for YOU, the community so any advice on changes, additions to this pic will be most welcomed....The final version will be brought to us in glorious HD...

Aside from what's already been said, the fact that you've lightened up the colors also adds to the piece, helping it blend better. The more whitish-darks are easier on the eyes when looking at the background.
...or its just that I woke up and my eyes aren't ready to suck in mondo amounts of color yet.
But either way, it looks much better. Keep it up!

You know, I'm really having trouble believing all this controversy about Pyro being a girl, it's just silly.
Anyway... I like the aged and crinkled look! It works great for your art style, almost natural if that makes any sense. The sketch itself is really well done too, I bet if I were to show this to someone and say it's a character concept sketch from VALVe, they'd believe me, haha.

It's slightly hinted, but the Pyro does resemble and sound male...... Though the custom skin I'm using would beg to differ....

Valve had it saying "her" on their blog for about an hour before they realized (or set it up) and the place were the pyro's stuff is in the lockers has womens stuff in it.
Awkward stuff like that... it could be just a prank from valve, but there is quite a pile of evidence.
I like the pressed paper feel, with the creases it's awesome

The Pyro's locker space does have a flower and a ladies handbag present, however the overall shape of the character is very feminine (even with a bulky suit) plus the voice actor for the Pyro is a bloke and sounds like one....
