Characteristics:
These snakes are tubes of solid muscle with limited digestive interior organs. The circumference of the snake is roughly that of its head, and only enlarges with huge meals or eggs. The sides and top are ridged with fins and sharp scales.
Behavior:
These snakes spend most of their time in a writhing ball in the trenches of the ocean, but during mating season, storms, and times of warmth they are drawn to the surface to either make landfall or gorge themselves on any available food source. Male and females are nondifferentiable and are treated as equals outside of the mating season.
Habitat:
Usually bodies of saltwater, but a displaced snake can survive in freshwater.
Planet of Origin:
Earth, genetically modified
Endangerment:
At lower risk: no concern
Due to the problems they cause, it is always open season on this species.
Description:
Sea snakes have three ridges of fins, one on the top of their body and one on either side above their belly-line. They are usually green or blue with tough, hard to pierce scales and razor fast reflexes. They can withstand great underwater pressures and can see in the dark well.
These fearsome creatures were created after loads of toxic waste was dumped into the South Chinese Sea after Shockwave finished his experiments. They are directly related to sea kraits, a semiaquatic venomous snake that inhabits this region.
