Saw this on Tumblr and had to come over here and comment in person - I love the lack of color in the piece, the muted shades as if it's all happening in shadow, or in the early morning. The motion stilled in Sherlock - it looks like John pulled him back just as he's flying out the door for a quiet, tender moment. So lovely!

I think I just died a little from the intense rush of joy I felt when I saw this. It's so beautiful. I love the slight monochrome effect, but the pose is just so completely intimate and sweet. I just love it.

I like how the background is simple so it doesn't distract from the image. Negative space used properly, my friend, is a wonderful thing.
