I'm not grasping at straws for thinking that Hunter shares some similarities with Zuko right? They both slowly grow a relationship with the heroes of each story, and grow as a character partly because of the heroes. They each have a supportive ally that helps most of their character development while Hunter/Zuko are on the antagonistic side. They're "home" is/was a heartless and vicious place to grow up in because of their family member(s).
That's some pretty big boots for Hunter to fill in terms of character development and story. I hope Dana Terrence and the production team can pull it off very well.
EDIT: In light of Hunter's recent episode, I just realized that Greed from Fullmetal Alchemist would also be a good comparison to Hunter, but in different ways than Zuko. Homunculi, Grimwalker who's been killed and recreated to make an obedient artificial person/witch, what's the difference?
