Description
Liz slipped into Hellboy’s room, the door, as always, being a burden for her.“They should get that oiled or something…”
“Huh?” Hellboy spun around, almost knocking Liz over, catching her by her dark blue sweater’s sleeve.
“I said—“ She laughed. “that they should oil that door.” She adjusted his jacket, smoothing down the collar.
“I’ll put in a requisition.”
“It’s not that big of a deal…” She said, scuffing the ground with her black combat boots. Hellboy noticed how cute it made her seem, with her long charcoal skirt fluttering just that tiny bit.
“Well, they won’t do anything unless I ask ‘em. It’s just never really a problem for me, you know…” he said, looking away from her.
“Of course it isn’t!” She grabbed a remote and changed one of the TV’s to the Weather channel. “Damn it!” she cried out.
“What!?”
“I just want winter to be over! Look at this,” she gestured towards the television, “Twenty degrees… twenty!”
“That means it might snow.”
“I’m beginning to hate snow.”
“But there’s so much you can do with it!”
“It’s so cold though, and not very useful.”
“Yeah, but…”
“I think I’d rather stay inside all winter.”
“Well, you do that. I’ll go where ever you go.”
Liz smiled and picked up a cat, “What about these guys?”
“That’s what they pay John for.”
“I see. So I don’t really get paid to feed you, or be your partner?” John asked as he walked in carrying a couple of large metal bowls.
“No, just feeding the cats, actually. The rest is voluntary!” Liz joked; poking him lightly in the middle of his black sweater.
“Well, I guess I’ll take these nachos back to the kitchen then.”
“No, that’s alright.” Hellboy grabbed each of the bowls as John turned around and put the bowls on the table.
“Never mind… But hey, Manning wants those requisition forms for the month by the first.”
“The first… that’s tomorrow! Crap, John, why didn’t you say something earlier?”
“It slipped my mind, too. I’ll go grab some.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow then,” Liz said.
“Oh, I’m sorry, Lizzy.”
“It’s not your fault, well it is, but…”
“Listen, we can go out tomorrow, and do something…”
“Why don’t we just go out and play in the snow?”
“I thought you said you hate snow?”
“I said I’m beginning to hate it. Maybe after tomorrow I will. But I can stand it for one day.” She stood on her tiptoes and pecked him on the cheek before slipping out the door again.
