yay team Asuma xD I didn't really have any ideas for them...Asuma always feeds them junk food D8 its always chips, pops and sweets

Probably because the root of his name, "shika", translates to "deer" (likely related to how the Nara clan are deer herders and own a large amount of Konoha's forests. Coincidentally, there is in fact a Nara Woods in Japan and it's likely Kishimoto named the clan after said forest.) Like how "chouji" translates to "butterfly" (his final food pill gives him butterfly wings, and butterflies have a symbolic nature of representing his and Shikamaru's friendship) and "ino" translates to "boar" (which is where the "Ino-pig" insult comes from, and it also likely symbolizes her tough and sometimes harsh nature). As a whole, their names (and their fathers') are a pun on "inoshikacho", or "Boar-Deer-Butterfly", which is a winning combination in the Hanafuda card game Koi-Koi.
That was a mouthful. But yeah, that's probably why he's wearing reindeer slippers.

Yeah. In fact, most if not all of the characters' names have meaning, either relating to their personalities, physical features, or professions. Like, "naruto" is a type is a type of ramen topping that takes a coiled shape, and "uzimaki" is a term for "spiral"... "Orochi-" from Orochimaru either means "snake" or is a reference to the legend of a demonic snake named "orochi". And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
