Backstory: Born in a strongly Christian family, Neil spent the first however many years of his life being a normal kid who’s weekends were usually spent going to school on the weekdays and camping on weekends. Adapting his parents’ love for the outdoors Neil learned how to kayak and mountain bike through the years in between the quiet blissful life.

However when Neil began to hit puberty his parents started showing a different side. Especially when Neil began to question himself and look into homosexuality. His parents would angrily expel him on the virtues of the bible and its anti homosexuality stances. However Neil couldn’t shake the urges, and one day at middle school was caught kissing another boy in the gym locker rooms.

His parents were furious, and when Neil tried to stand up for himself, caused a sudden vicious shouting match between son and parents. Ending with them giving Neil 100 dollars and telling him he had until the end of the week to leave the house for good. Neil was completely shattered when his grandparents on his mom’s side found out. Calling him and by the end of the week quietly helping him get a moving van and train ticket to their home just outside of Central City.

When Neil arrived it took a little time to get out of the funk caused by what had happened. Eventually Neil’s grandparents were able to help through camping trips and even through their own love for baking and cooking. Neil’s grandmother was a recreational baker, though had county fair ribbons to her name. It was Neil’s grandfather who had more acclaim as a chef. Owning one of the longest established restaurants in the city that was founded by his mom and dad. Neil took to both with gusto, learning from his parents as he was able to get his life back on track. The city also had a big effect on him positively, especially when the local superhero team The Sentinels announced their newest member Elastic Jack, Neil always thought that guy was super cool… and cute as hell!

When he was hired by a firm for catering and private chef work. One of Neil’s co-workers one day surprised him with a blind date with a guy “Who was totally up his alley.” That guy just so happened to be Ryan Smith. The two needed a little time but eventually it was clear that they were clicking. Soon after Neil graduated high school the two moved in, Neil using part of his 100 from his parents as a part of the down payments.

Since then the two have happily been a pair, Neil still occasionally going on weekend camping excursions. Miraculously able to even pull the normally indoorsy Ryan along without any issue. Though he can’t help but sometimes notice Ryan’s sometimes strange behavior. Sudden change of plans, and even weird changes in how he looks. Neil tries not to think about it, but he has to wonder.
