Because a lot of people can see that...
When you draw on paper you make some kind of "independent structure" in real world... It starts its own life in one moment... You can feel it - feel its alive!
When you draw digital you just get a set of "numbers" in computers memory - its a living structure too, but it far from human mind and soul...

So is that to say digital art is incapable of having a soul? Can that be changed? What if the image originally started on paper (the real world) and was colored digitally?

You need to understand - paper drawing is like some kind of "graphic spell".
If you started on paper - you already created "soul" any operations with digital colouring are normal, because every person will instantly connect with "soul" with colouring or without.
Wrong thing is to draw only digital stuff... It has no "part" to connect with...

When you draw digital you can fix all mistakes. Its hard to do on paper. Thats why your drawings on paper are made with all your love and attention. Digital stuff usually made or too fast or has a lot of "unreal" datails...

That is a very pretty and very attractive pose! It looks natural and I really like the facial expression! Also, the legs are very nicely drawn and they don't look like they should have been broken which they sometimes do.
The only thing about this drawing bothering me a bit is the scythe, it looks like the blade isn't connected to the stem of the scythe, which is a pity. But in general very nice colors, good anatomy and a very pretty background too!
