Let´s Wikiattack!
In Norse mythology, Loki ("wolf´s father") is a god or jötunn The son of two Giants, Fárbauti and Laufey, and the brother of Helblindi and Býleistr. He was so outrageously mischievous that he even sneaked his way into becoming a God. He was the first Anti-Hero, quick-witting his way out of the tight corners and confrontations caused by his misdeeds. But as time wore on he became increasingly nasty.
His first escapade was a very rampant romp. When the Gods were struggling to build Asgard, they found they'd run out of funds. Which is not surprising as money and banks hadn't been invented yet. All the basic construction had been completed but they needed a large protective wall. Loki came up with the plan of contracting a Giant to do the job. As payment, the Giant asked for the Sun and Moon and also the Goddess Freya if the work was completed to schedule. The Gods were not too sure. "Don't worry," advised Loki. "He'll never manage it on his own, even if he works night and day — and the deal will be off. We'll let him keep the wheelbarrow or something." Alas, the Giant was not on his own. He had a huge stallion called Svadilfari, which could haul boulders like there was no tomorrow. With three days to go, Freya was in distress and the Gods aghast. Now Loki, like fire and smoke, was a shape-changer, he changed himself into a mare and seduced the Giant's stallion. By whinnying and prancing off into the woods, Svadilfari was led far away from the stone pile. With his horse missing, the Giant didn't quite make the schedule. Seething with rage, he tried to take Freya by force, until Thor cracked his skull with his hammer.
Meanwhile Loki was having a fine old time frolicking in the fields. In fact he became pregnant, and decided to sample the joys of motherhood. He gave birth to a fine baby boy stallion with eight legs. He gave this as a gift to Odin and it was called Sleipnir. Loki was now well in with top God Odin and his son Thor, with whom he shared numerous adventures. Thor, the perfect fall guy, was persuaded to appear in drag as the prospective bride of a giant and other embarrassments. Thor could always be relied on to supply the muscle when corners became too tight for trickery.Loki had many run-ins with the dwarves, which he cheated at any opportunity until they stitched him up. Literally. They stitched his mouth shut, which kept him quiet for quite some time.
Loki never missed an opportunity to take advantage of any Goddess, despite already having had three wives. Glut who bore two daughters Einmyria and Eisa.Next was Angrboda, a giantess who spawned Fenrir the Giant Wolf, Jormungand the Earth-encircling Serpent, and Hel the Underworld Goddess. Finally there was his wife Sigyn, who produced their ill-fated sons Narvi and Vali.
Loki was seldom out of the Nordic News or the Sunday Runes. But his tricks came to an end after causing the death of Baldur. Loki is eventually bound by the gods with the entrails of one of his sons. A serpent drips venom from above him that his wife Sigyn collects into a bowl. However, Sigyn must empty the bowl when it is full, and the venom that drips in the mean time causes Loki to writhe in pain, thereby causing earthquakes. With the onset of Ragnarök, Loki is foretold to slip free from his bonds and to fight against the gods among the forces of the jötnar, at which time he will encounter the god Heimdallr and the two will slay each other.

Alright, Loki! For being so evil a lot of people seem to love this guy.
Loki was blood brothers with Odin wasn't he? That's how he ended up becoming one of the Norse Gods. With the Juton and the wall, didn't Fryaja polity threatened to cut his "junk" off if he didn't fix the problem he made? I like the story where Loki and Thor both had to cross-dress to get Thor's hammer back from a Juton.

The artistic style is really good.
But on a negative point I must say that it would fit the christian devil better than Loki.

You Do know that Loki wasnt a warrior right. He was slain by the Gaurdion of the Bridge. Hiemdall? Not sure how to spell it any more. Ive done Norse, and Greek mythology 2 years on it. Also have very small bit on Egyption Myth.
The Giant Who built the wall, ARG Name eludes me for the moment, was brother to the Giant who stole the Girl who picked the Apples or Fruit.
PS
Hel - Underworld Ruler, Jourmunga - Midgaurd Serpent, Fefnir or was it Fefnar - The Wolf that slays Odin , Are all 3 of his only Children. He went to the top mount of midgaud, and found the ugliest witch, who happend to be a Giant, ( 3 sisters living there). She bore Hel, Jourmunga, and Fefnir.
As for the Dwarfs. He didnt just cheat them, he made a bet. The golden Boar, The Ship err dammit cant remember the name, and Mjorn ( Thors hammer ) . I doubt i spelled a few of the names right. Needless to say Loki lost the bet, and The dwarfs wanted to kill Loki, but odin intervened, saying if you kill one of them then they should suffer, so they decided to keep him from lieing, stitched his mouth shut. Thats not the full Detailed story, because I'd have to write for a couple of pages, where loki turned into a wasp, and keep stinging one of the 2 dwarf brothers that made the bet with him, One was Brokk. Whom left his brother to work the Hand Fan at the forge. Loki keep stinging him, leaving giant welts, and sores, but still he worked. Ill get on here later and post.
Just cause what i post doesnt mean that what GENZOMAN is wrong. No one knows what really happened, cause no one was alive back then. Adios. Not every one has the Same version either.
Hel, Jormungo, and Fefnir was Loki's Children Though, cause Loki is also known as the father of Ragnarok. Even though Sutur the Fire Giant showed up and Set fire to the world, and finally himself

The guardian of the Bifröst is Heimdall. They killed each other.
The giant's name, who built Asgard, is not mentioned in the Eddas... as far as I know. I've read only the German translations... You mean Idunn by the girl who was picking the apples? The giant who kidnapped her was Thyalfi, his doughter was Skadi. Both have important roles in a myth when the Golden Apples of Eternal Youth have been stolen.
The mother of Hel, Fenrir and Yörmungand was Angrboda, and she is not one of the norns. Loki has other children also, two son from the giantess Sigynn. Their name is Nari and Narfi, and two doughters from the giantess Glut. Their name I have unfortunately forgot, the meanings were 'ash' and something simular...
Loki really didn't cheat the dwarfs, they have made a bet, that if they can make magical instruments, like Thor's Mjöllnir, Freyja's Brisingamen etc, then they can cut his head off. This was after the incident of Sif's hair... (Loki has cut Sif's golden hair off, and Thor made him ask the dwarfs to prepare a wig that is exactly like the original. they made it out of gold. the gods liked it very much and they wanted more things, here comes this story...) The dwarfs made all these things, despite Loki disturbing them in the form of a wasp or fly. They were about to cut Loki's head off, when he told "I have given permission only to cut my head. On my neck you have no right." So instead of killing him, they have stiched his lips together.
Whoah, I love Northern myths... Sorry, I just couldn't see it unfinished... I'm a Loki-freak.

Oh, since I was a small girl, who discovered a nice, colorful book about the Viking's mythology in the library, I was very much fond of German myths... and especially Loki. To tell you the truth, I love all the world's myths... fascinating, what fantasy(?) people had those days. Although I believe, all these things are existing. Just normal people can't see them.
And yeah, I wrote my thesis paper about Loki... ohohohohoo... others were struggeling with their blank pages, and I just sat down and wrote it in a weekend.... XD I love him! XD

O_o, Im glad there are others who like mythology. Arnt you talking about the Veil. See the more modern myth movies, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, n etc, Viel to keep hidden from prying eyes. Humans always tend to destroy, well I would say anything we dont understand, but we destroy anything we decide too. I watch alot of movies. Hercules, Xena, were two of my favorite shows when I was younger. Have you heard of Hyperion? Ive heard of thesius Ive almost got a complete photographic memory, but all things fade if you don't keep with it. Not sure about him. Saw commercials for the Immortals couple of weeks ago. Now Im going to have to go check on it.

well, my opinion about mythological movies is not too good... I mean, they are always making such stupid mistakes that I don't even want to watch them...(Disney's Herkules: Herkules was the son of Zeus and HERA?????!!!! ok, at this point I hated that movie) and this Thor movie... OK, Thor looked great, and I know it's based on a comic, but still... I'd like to have more realistic stories about them. And for all the god's sake, Thor is a redhead... > and Loki supposed to be charming and handsome, not like... this. about their family relations I don't even want to write...
When I was young, I also loved Xena and Herkules! Kevin Sorbo was so cool! My favourite was Ares...
Hyperion the titan-god of light, or there is a movie you are asking? about the titan of course I've heard... I prefer titans over gods. it's like in German myths... there were the Jötuns, then the Aesir came and killed most of them. in Hellas, there were the Titans, then the Olympians came and killed them... In this sence I don't like German and Greek gods... :S
The Veil is there to keep us out of their more or less peaceful worlds. If we could see them, we wouldn't stop bothering them. But there are some people who can see through this, muhahahahaha

Yeah, but you have to go with what you got. If you dont use your imagination though. Titans are the best. The movie I was talking about just came out on Previews. Probably in theaters now. Its called the Immortals, made by the same people who did the 300. From what Ive seen Hyperion has declared war on human kind, and seems to be exterminating them. The greek gods apparently cant touch him. Eh they prolly will mess it up. OH yeah the worse thing that messes up greek Myth is Gods of War games 1 - 3. I bet every one believes all that is real.

probably everyone goes with the media (games ,movies, cartoons, etc), not with books on the topic. Or at least Wikipedia... even that is better than the films these days. But, you are right... you have to go with what you get. I'm always happy if a new mythology related film comes out, and hope, that they don't mess it up too much. I've read the plot of the Immortals, well... let's see. But it's strange that an indian guy, Tarsem Singh directed it... looking at his films, we have some hopes to get a good movie. If you liked the Cell or The Fall, of course.

:/ Ive just about given up on high hopes. Atleast I still have my space movies, well my favorite would be the Space battles, when they do ruin the Myth movies. Immortals looks promising but looks can be decieving.

Everytime I think of Slepnir's birth, I can't help but giggle. Then I remember Loki fathered Fenris, the-eater-of-Tyr's-hand, the Midgard Serpent, and Hel. Maybe you should do Odin on Slepnir holding his spear, and Hel herself?

A small comment. Loki is one of the old Norse words for fire. He was known (and named) for his fiery-red hair. Otherwise he looks awesome.
