Continuing to redesign the cover to my comic, Morningstar vol. 2, we get into how important composition is. And in this cover, the wings are a significant element framing the figure. Their position effects, not just the silhouette of the main character, but where and how light hits the figure.
We dip into reference and this time, I chose the classics, like Gustave Dore, with his copious angel illustrations.
I also give my top 3 tips on adding muscle anatomy to basic volumes and where I would attach wings on an angel's body. Chock full of good stuff.
