Description
Linebacker (Joe Borsas)When Joe was a little boy, he had a rare disorder that made his bones brittle. This left him feeling alone and sad as he was shelter inside and unable to frolly with the rest of the world. When the renowned and controversial miracle Doctor Franz Dippel heard of Joe's rare condition he offered the family his medical services to help the boy. Dippel wanted to make the boy stronger than anyone and reverse the genes that caused Joe's bones to be so brittle. Joe doesn't remember much of what happened during those treatments as he was very young...but it worked!
Unbeknownst to most, Dr. Franz Dippel was a direct descendent of Johann Conrad Dippel. Born in Castle Frankenstein in 1673, Johan Dippel was a theologian, alchemist, and early meta-scientist who developed a popular dye called Prussian Blue that is still used to this day. But Johann Dippel is better remembered for his more controversial experiments. He mixed animal bones and hides together in a stew he called “Dippel’s Oil,” which he claimed was an elixir that would not only extend the lifespan of anyone who consumed it, it made them stronger and more durable. He also loved dissecting animals, and stole human bodies from Castle Frankenstein. Dippel is often cited as being the main inspiration for Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, though the claim remains controversial.
In the modern day, Dr. Franz Dippel perfected his ancestor's formula's and performed the procedure on several people including Joe. With his new lease on life, the happy boy who no longer had brittle bones was able to go out and play with other children and join organized sports. Over time, Joe realized that something was different about him then others. He was unable to get hurt. There were many instances that left him dumbfounded as to why he wasn't - when he was 14 years old he was in a horrible car crash that left him unscathed, at 19 he was hit by a truck while crossing the street and not even getting so much as a scratch, but the clincher that made him realize that he was truly extraordinary is when at 23 years old he ran back into a burning house to see if there was anyone left inside and it collapsed on him. He stood from the rubble, not a single burn.
Discovering through experimentation that his skin can't be burned or pierced, and that his bones are almost diamond hard. Joe realized he could do some real good with this ability. He dusted off his old high school football gear and took to the streets, tackling bad guys right out of their shoes.
Evil doers think they can quarterback their schemes to the end zone, but they need to pay heed to their flank as here comes...the LINEBACKER!
