Description
The Treantula is a protector of woods and forests. They hatch from medium-sized eggs, giving birth to cubs that from the earliest years of life must learn camouflage techniques to defend themselves from Distorting Beasts, Phase Spiders and other monstrosities. Only the young of these creatures are able to create cobwebs and stay on them, since in becoming colossal beasts the web becomes unable to bear their weight. Adult versions of these spiders are ambush predators, using their disguise to surprise prey, trap them with the web, and devour them.Adult Treantulas are solitary creatures, unlike their young, capable of forming swarms of hundreds of individuals.
Wood Elves are able to use these creatures and tame them from their earliest years to make them protectors of their cities, use them as mounts, and more. It is said that they were also used for the great war in Feywild against the Unseelie fairies.
