So tails, amy, and knuckles just reached stage two when we last saw them. (I might be wrong) meaning that it is highly unlikely that they will be able to be saved. That must suck, if/when Sonic realizes that.

That implies that being attacked by a soulless can transmit it. Soulless are only made (as far as we know) by Zielo stealing that person's soul fragment. Granted, he can do that on a massive scale apparently, but the soulless cannot make other soulless based on what we've seen.

I think Sonic is going to try to save them. Bunny's friends say no, but Sonic dose it anyways. Silver and Shadow will help but Shadow will be harder to convince. They will find Amy, Tails, Bernadette and knuckles, but some will likely already be in stage three. Sonic will be mad and try to help them anyway. Something bad happens and one of the three heggies gets hurt(I think silver) and they escape back to there friend Bunny, but something else gos wrong and they go somewhere else.
I know you did not ask for a theory, but theirs my guess. It will most likely be wrong.
