Description
You say nothing ever goes your way
So you look for help and start to pray
How about creating your own path today
If you follow your light it will show you the way

****

A local church near Marseilles, France.
Taken with Canon 17-40L
I stayed there for a long time trying to get the light and the moment right, and it worked out as planned. It's a good thing I have the faith...

i really love this photo.
im a Catholic and what amazes me much about the faith is its age old traditions and architecture of the buildings the Church has. U truly capture the awe of it.

Fantastic use of perspective and lighting, especially the site of an individual walking into (walking out from?) the light which has saturated the form, changing it, giving even greater meaning.

The detail captured is crisp and clearly read. The almost empty space of the church represents, at least to me, that the journey is ultimately personal one. The attached poem adds all the more emphasis to what is being portrayed through this scene in time.

Great work. Favorite.

You got so much in that photo!
How did you manage to get the roof and the ceiling? It's sort of cubist - like you see almost every side at once.
I always want to take photos of things how my eyes see them - you totally managed with this!
Awesome!

awesome .... the light plays a very imp role, the blue effect made it look even better and the fact that the person is walking exactly in the middle of the doorway gives it a more mysterious look! beautiful

Maybe it was because I was listening to them at the time, but when I saw this photo (wonderful, by the way) it reminded me of the cover of "Elodia", a CD by the German group Lacrimosa.

Here's the cover [link]

The detail of the photo is AWESOME, and by having 17mm you could capture the whole scene... shots like this one make me want to buy the sigma 10-20mm because with a cropped sensor it would be the only chance to have this very wide POV.

Congrats Gilad, as usual
