Description
If I believe in you, will that make a difference?
If you are never there, does it really matter if you exist?
Why do you keep testing us, are you waiting for us to fail?
If you can do something about it, why don't you?
Do you like it when I pray, or don't you even hear me?
Is there a point to life if it always ends in death?
Does heaven exist? Do people dress casually there?
People are getting confused, would you choose a religion already?
Why don't you come and visit the Middle East from time to time?
Does it really help to bless someone after he sneezes?
When you are down, who do you pray to?
Why?
Are you really a woman? Cause that would explain the mood changes...
****
If you have your own questions for god, I'll be sure to e-mail him this page. I wonder if he will leave a comment...

Very strong words. Very nice perspective on the photograph too. It almost seems that the subject is on the same par as god, the same plane. So in this reflective state god will be able to hear him? I dunno. Just what I thought.

extraordinary piece, im so in love with it. for one, i like the composition in the picture and the fact that you placed it sideways. its like hes lost in his mind amongst these questions. second, your words add meaning to what would originally be just a neat picture. a very meaningful piece, especially for me. doubting your religion?

I hate to post twice, but one of your questions caught my eye as I scrolled back up.
"Why don't you come and visit the Middle East from time to time?"
Most times I wonder this too. It seems odd that the Middle East, being the place of three of the major religions, maybe, just maybe, it would be more of a peaceful place. But I guess, like brothers fighting over their father's home, its destined to be a hotbed for war and violence until the three brothers make peace with each other.
And that can't happen soon enough.

But if there would be peace on earth everyone would forget about God. Have you ever thought about that?

the-musician In reply to YSR1 [2007-03-28 23:15:42 +0000 UTC]
yes, I have thought of that before. After all, I had never seen quite as many "God Bless America" signs before 9-11 as I did afterwards. Also, there's never quite as many well-off people in the church on Sunday as there are poor (not just monetarily). Adversity breeds religiousity... for the most part.
But isn't faith and trust in God supposed to bring peace?
All I wish, is that there could be peace in the Middle East. Not even for that long. Just so that the children, parents, teenagers, grandparents, and young adults don't forget what it feels like. War and violence make you weary.

You're 100% right. We often come up with our own conclusions, but God sees the bigger picture and he does things that we don't understand, because we are like ants in his sight. I trust God in what he does because he's bigger and wiser and I'm smaller and dummer. I will give you one example: one lady had gone completely blind and she was really upset because of that, because she had a bussiness to run. But later she believed in God and her life had changed a lot. God used her blindness to bring her closer to him.
It's so good that you wish that there would be peace on Middle East, but the perfect place where the peace will reign forever will be in paradice, and we need to live in disconfort in order to long for paradice. And if we'll get too comfortable here on earth we'll surely forget about God and heaven.
Sorry for my English (it's horrible I know)

nope. Not from NY. My dad's military, and he's right now stationed in CA. His family is from ME, NH, and Quebec however, so I took french in school... didn't help much since I can't understand the Quebec dialect.

For everything there is an appointed time,
and an appropriate time for every activity on earth
A time to be born,and a time to die;a time to plant, and a time to uproot what was planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones;a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to search, and a time to give something up as lost;a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to rip, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silent, and a time to speak.
A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

Really pretty. The angle is really clever but somehow makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps considering the subject matter that's intentional...

Absolutely beautiful shot, and beautiful message it sends too. One to get everyone thinking I say, believers and non-believers or those undecided. :]
Very powerful, and I don't think the message would be portrayed as well if it lacked either the description or the picture. <3
The sideways view is very intriguing as well, can't even explain why. But it seems to give it a new sense of depth we're (or at least I) am not used to.
