Description
You must have heard
You must have known it by now
Times have changed and not for the better
Soon all of us will be without a shelter
What use to be our planet is not all it was cracked up to be
The icebergs are melting and the weather is drastic
Our cars, our electricity, our way of life is bringing us down
Where it use to be life is now slowly decaying
We will tell our children of how green everything use to be
We will tell them when the weather was nice
We will tell them but they will find it hard to believe
The reflections of how it use to be
****
An Inconvenient Truth. Indeed.
Take some time and watch [link] and see what you think will happen to us next.

In the future, I'll tell the youth.
This world was green, that's the truth.
I'll find pleasure in telling them all
how the blue of the sky used to fall.
I'll enlighten their days,
by telling of natures ways.
Tell them all that once,
that the sun was our friend.
And now, because of us...
this world will end.

The detail is just brilliant. The vivid color of the blue with the reflected clouds, against the cracked land? Brilliant composition as well.

It's not just inconvienient. It's scary. So scary.
And I HATE when people say, 'Well, it's not my problem. I'll be dead before that all happens.' But your kids won't. And you grandkids won't either! I was talking to my friend, and I told her that I compare saying that to holding your newborn child, so beautiful and innocent, feeling the immediate bond with it, and then killing it on the spot. That's bascially what you're doing. Only worse. If we don't change things NOW then when that child grows up, and the crazy and unlikely things DO occur, will be toture for it, and they'll wish they really DID kill it.
Lol, that made a little more sense in my head, sorry.
Ah! And I haven't commented on the shot! I think it says a lot, and you can evoke quite a few emotions from it, as you can see above. Even though it's so dry and cracked, it still looks beautiful.

Indeed, an inconvenient truth. But also the inconvenient ones have to be heard.
I wonder why people just write "It's beautiful" instead of "you're right"?! How many actually care about the meaning of this photo? Our world is a loan, given to us by our children- and we use it, play around with it until we fimd out that it's not as good as expected- so we give it back, damaged, broken, not useable anymore. When do people finally realize that it takes a lot more time to rebuild something than to damage it? And we're on the best way to destroy everything, so that, in the end, there won't even be left anything that could be used to rebuild the rest.
However, another question:
What kind of droplet is that? It doesn't really look like water..? oO Or is that because of post-processing?

That's so fabulous! When I see shots like this in your gallery, I can't help but think of papers like National Geographic with beautiful pictures. This shot especially would fit so well for a magazine like that. Stunning work! ^_^

Ah! I got chills up and down my spine when I saw the image and read your poem. Particularly the last stanza.
It is an inconvenient truth, indeed, that we are slowly killing Earth because we are too ignorant, lazy, selfish to do anything to stop it. (Oddly enough, I am reminded strongly of the movie Wall-E, since it too deals with the ultimate demise of this beautiful planet we call home)
A powerful piece. Beautifully photographed and executed. Bravo!
