all I can say is: WOW. This is a heartfelt piece. You can see through its simplicity. You know, being a Filipino in a foreign land, I appreciate this alot. I have not left my roots behind because I am proud and damn it I will shout it out to the world that I am Pinoy. I speak tagalog at home, and all my habits that I brought from the Philippines, and culture I am proud to share to my non pinoy friends ^____^ Thanks.

I actually live in Hawaii, half Filipino, and like every other wannabe here in the States we all want to go back to our roots. Too bad we're bashing them in in the process.

Oddly enough, I just bought a song that (part of it) criticizes commercialism. Even more ironic was that the feature on the song was the artist [will.i.am].
