Beauty in Quarantine
It's been two months since quarantine started and me and my mother have tried to stay at home as much as possible, which is especially hard for my mother, but today at breakfast I saw her especially down. “Hey, are you ok?”. She took a while to respond. “No, I really miss the salon". She has a beauty salon, but now it’s closed for obvious reasons. “Don’t worry, I’m sure the lockdown is going to be over soon, right?”. “Thank you Michael, I’ll help you take everything off before you go to sleep” “WHAT?” I thought to myself “She wants me to stay like this the rest of the day?! Now I’m glad we have to stay at home”. But still I smiled, this was fun and it was nice bonding with her a little more. “Sure, it’s nothing mom, anytime you want”. I almost immediately regretted saying it, until she hugged me like never before and said: “Thank you son”. Well, I guess we can do this some time again as long as this makes her feel happy, besides, I’m sure the lockdown is going to be over soon, right?
