It rained today which brought out all the colors. This vine is absolutely gorgeous! I love the color combination and the overall aesthetic. It even turns a brilliant red in the fall. But despite it’s beauty, I HATE this plant! It may be pretty, but it takes over everything! It’s called a Virginia Creeper and the berries are poisonous. They are the reason I had to call poison control for my oldest daughter when she was one year old. It’s over run my shed (even inside), and my grow boxes. It’s mixed in with my grape vines, strangles my roses and gooseberries, and covered my fence. I’ve tried to kill it with no success. I’m afraid the only way to eradicate it is to kill off everything in my yard.
