You see, the common topics are those topics which are universal
That is to say, everyone knows them, and they are all you hear.

Deeper reasons yet, I regret, exist for their dispersal.
They are often ambiguous, emphatic, and uncontroversial

For fear of angering our peers, we choose topics they often hear
avoiding those that seem controversial

How are we to express our hopes and dreams if we listen to our fears?
