Bug types were so useless in Red and Blue, it was hilarious.
They got way better over time.

1. Scyther - Scizor may be more useful, but Scyther is just cooler in every way. It also has the coolest voice ever!

2. Armaldo - For a while, I didn't notice that Armaldo's eyes are on the sides of it's head. The main reason Armaldo is so high up is because of Explorers of Sky, that Armaldo is really likable.

3. Beedrill - For a bee with massive stingers for arms, Beedrill sure sucks in fights. It's still one of the coolest Pokemon!

4. Scolipede - Damn, Scolipede looks like it would happily snap your neck, huh? Further proof that 5th gen had the coolest Pokemon.

5. Galvantula - The idea of a spider that can weave electrical webs is pretty neat! Drawing it upside down was awkward...
