Description
Nodwogs are a species of alien with distinct limbs, but ambiguous facial features. Their culture is taught to protect their face by wearing armor. Though this started out as a traditional practice, it has grown to aid their race from being copied by Moochers. The head and facial features of a Nodwog are hidden by the skull shaped armor they wear. These helmets can be inspired by any animal skull, real or fictional, or any bone structure you think would work well. The eyes of a Nodwog may be any color, and the pupils make an X shape. A batwing shaped ear extends from both sides of their head.
Nodwogs have bipedal, toad-like bodies with two, four fingered arms and two three toed legs.
Nodwogs are primarily muted grey colors, with occasional more vibrant base colors in some. They can have a variety of skin markings, from stripes to spots etc. Even their armor can take on different colors, but white colors are the more traditional route.
Aside from their helmets, Nodwogs can wear plenty of other styles of garments. Although, it is common to see a Nodwog adorned in more armor than just the helmet, as they are soft, squishy, and vulnerable.
I haven't really designed the face of a Nodwog yet. A lot of the fun for me is finding ways to orient a skull differently from what one would expect. However, if you want to make a Nodwog with a particular face, that's perfectly fine. If/when I get around to designing a base form, I'll have that posted.
Emperor Khost is the only Nodwog I've designed so far, so the naming convention has little bearing here. However, a good starting point might be synonyms to land and water. I actually might have named him Khost to sound like "cost", and I'm not fully convinced what pronunciation I was looking for, so money related names are another fun avenue to choose. Really whatever you want for these.
