Meet a character that has been living in my head rent free for months, Ruru!

She is a nightwing born without wings and under a blood moon. Her parents were thieves and stole from an animus, who cursed their family to see and hear the dead. Ruru (Who was hatched long after this curse was placed), unlike the rest of her family, managed to befriend some of the spirits, learning how to commentate and even learning small bits of shadow magic

She got her name from a sweet family of Rainwings who took her in, while her parents, treating Ruru's time of hatching as an bad omen, named her as such. Omen. I like to think she only uses this name as a way to scare off dangerous dragons.

And since she was born under one moon, she has prophetic powers. However because of her families curse and the time of her hatching, she can only see disasters and read doomed prophecies. Because of this she tries to use her curse to help grieving families talk to their loved ones for one last time.

Note: This magic cannot help her fly, but can be used to show the vague shape of spirits and as an intimidation tactic, like when an cat or dog puffs up their fur to appear bigger.
