With how most people draw Nicole looking so much older than Tails, I can find the idea of them being together a bit awkward as it makes it look more like they belong in a sibling or parent-to-child bond. However, every once and I while I do see something truly adorable with them that makes me appreciate the idea XD
In my opinion, if the story and situations add up to it well, then I'm all for it!

If somebody would wish to make them a pair in a comic, they could add a plot point of Nicole changing how she looks to a more younger visual. After all, she's techinically younger then Tails, but attempt to look like a late-teen to match the appearance of Sally, her friend and mirror to be among the living... Hmm, who knows...
