Do you wanna draw Avengers AND hear the ramblings of a madman? If so, let's do this!! Draw an avengers pic (must have Loki or Ironman in it) and I'll write you a short fanfic about what I think is happening in the pic HAHA!
What? No I can't promise it'll be good cos I never write, but I wanna try!! XD O yea, but I wont' do girl porn, and I give preference to new pics (otherwise everyone's just gonna link heaps of old pics and I'll get whelmed)

There was also the time Thor was on the way to Jotunheim and spent the night in what he thought was a cave, but the next morning it turned out he'd been sleeping in the thumb of a giant's glove. Loki likes to tease him about how scared he was when he was awoken by the giant picking up the glove to put it on. Poor Thor thought it was a terrible earthquake and that the ground was going to swallow him up.
Or the time Thor wanted to cross a river, and the boatman sat on the other side. Thor demanded passage, for he was a God of Asgard and a high-born lord, so get on with it, peasant. The boatman told him to ask nicely. Thor didn't.
The boatman relentlessly teased Thor about his arrogance and recounted every embarrassing story the Thunderer was ever part of. Thor, incoherent with impotent rage threatened, "if you weren't on the other side of that damn river, I would tear you limb from limb," to which the boatman simply replied, "but I am on the other side."
Thor, with all his might, threw Mjolnir at the boatman, who promptly vanished. Thor had to walk 40 miles to the nearest crossing.
The boatman, of course, was Odin, trying to teach Thor a lesson in humility.

Well, originally they were oral tradition - bards would sing old tales of them while a hall of people stamped their feet to keep time. Many were written down in Iceland sometime in the late medieval period, others have been found in documents as far away as Alexandria in Egypt. The Vikings got around a lot. Like, from Russia to North America to the Middle East around.
A dude named Peter Madsen did draw a really rather incredibly excellent comic called Valhalla for something like 25 years, based on the old tales but injecting some modern humour into it. He finally got to the Ragnarok a couple of years ago and ended it. It's not been translated into English as far as I know, but here's a picture that'll give you an idea: [link]
It's Thor, trying to lift Outland-Loki's cat as part of a challenge. Outland-Loki is NOT Loki, but a powerful giant playing host to Thor and his party for the night. The cat is Jormungandr, the World Serpent, in disguise, and no matter how hard you lift, it will simply stretch, for Jormungandr spans the entire world... but I'll try not to bore you with too many stories you haven't asked for
You'll also notice Thor is red-haired - he's a redhead in all our old stories, it's Jack Kirby who thought blonde was more Scandinavian.

Thor and Loki, by the way, are not actually brothers. Loki is originally a Jotun (what the movies call Frost Giants), but for unclear reasons he and Odin mixed blood and became blood brothers, making Loki actually more of an uncle to Thor -- The kind of uncle who doesn't get invited to any family reunions, but shows up anyway drunk as hell and with a prostitute on each arm.
But yeah, it's pretty cool to see our old gods in stuff like Avengers and Thor, even if the Marvel version is pretty consistently wrong about a lot of things. On the other hand, if they spent too much time being accurate we probably woulda never had Hemsworth/Hiddleston to amuse us, so it all works out in the end
If you DO want to hear some more of the old stories, btw, I'd be happy to play storyteller. I'm quite good at it

I never cry for movies but sort of sobbed my way quietly through this one. 10/10 for me, personally. It was nice to see a Disney princess movie that doesn't end with a marriage between two people who barely know each other. (Spoilers? I'm sure you already know though, but still...) I really think you'll like it.
Avengers was amazing, glad I went to see it. I'll start on s doodle for it soon. :>

I watched it recently on the plane, it was better than I thought but I didn't feel that much for the characters to be honest, there were a few too many cliches and cheesiness for me, esp for a Pixar movie, I expected MOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE HAHA!

I guess it just hit home for me particularly hard because of the relationship between the characters. The music also pegged me right in the heart. I don't know, but something about that one was special for me. I did see Enchanted recently. That is the worst movie I have ever seen. It almost seemed like trolling.
(Can I just say I love you and cannot believe you responded to me? Like, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm a huge fan and would like to be able to animate like you someday, or at least as fast as you do. You get what I mean lol)
