Well, I'm holding off on putting up any more serious art until I can get a difinative answer from devArt as to where my combination traditional/digital art should go (6 requests for help and still not one answer. Highly frustrating). At any rate, I finally got around to finishing an iPod parody ad. I don't know if imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery or not, but this ad campain really is wide open to satire
Bender from Futurama. Just seemed to be a good subject choice. There are other ideas in my head, but his seemed the most concise.
Medium: Original sketch drawn over in Photoshop with pentool and brush.
Bender is copyright Matt Groening. I'm not sure if you can copyright an ad campain, but if so, the credit for the layout goes to Apple.

As for the traditional/digital thing, i am almost 100% possitive that i saw an admit say (type) that something for example done with pencil and then coloured digitally would go in the digital section. That is where i put my digitally coloured pencil work. I also think they said that when it was a gray area, it was up to the artist to decide. Probably good to mention in the description what tools you used so they know why it's in the digital section. Anyway, hope that helps

unfortunately, that was the guideline I got, and I did include a description of the media as I always do, and the piece was still deleted. The upside is, I did finally get in touch with two admins now (not through the help center, though) and hopefully, between the two of them, I will get a concurring opinion that should hold true for future works as well as now. As it is, I can see getting an answer from one person, then turning around and getting a different answer from someone else, etc.

Ok, here's the most recent rundown. Hand drawn, digitally colored does fall into digital, but because mine look tradionally done, they said it was safer to put into tradional. I'm going a step further and putting them into mixed media so no one can complain and putting a big disclaimer at the top.

That's my fear. The one that was deleted had only been up for a short while (like 3 seconds) so no *real* big, but I did get word back from one of the admins saying I was right, it should not have been deleted, and that yes, I was in a very grey area. Their comment was that I should probably go with tradional since that is how it 'looks', I'm just still worried that someone would throw a coniption later. I suppose I can head all of such pices with "This is where admin told me to put it" but that doesn't seem very friendly. Sigh, oh well. Part of the draw back to being ingenuative is you run into issues like this. Oh well. If they tell me more, I'll be sure to let you know.

*hands GoblinQueen some pain killers and a pack of ice for the headache the robot will surely have in the morning* Not sure about the faded shaddow behind the robot. I really like the inegrity of the solid shapes...the robot and the text and the orange background. The faded shaddow almost does not fit and looks a bit like an afterthought. The design is beautifully executed, and shows great design sense

I have the same problem... sighs... where do you put your art if you drew and ink them by hand... but colored it in photoshop? I was in a fix with that one.

according to their own guidelines, drawn by hand, colored in computer goes into digital, problem is, that's essentially what I do and they still deleted one of my pieces, soeven by their own guidelines, there's a few kinks to iorn out.

yeah, but here's the rundown. Finally got ahold of a couple admins and one couldn't get my example pics to load for some reason, the other said I was right, by the examples, they did fall into digital and that one should not have been deleted, though as they gave off the tradional look, it would probably be safer for me to put them into tradional. So for now, I'm going with mixed media and a big disclaimer saying I was instructed to put it there, don't delete. Not very friendly, but unfortunately, I'm left with no other option.
